relationship with our Lord,
God’s House wants to serve
you, and wants you to be a
part of our family and the
family of God. We hope that
you will want to find out more
about us and how we may
minister to you.
Church In Study
Please join
us each Sunday morning
for Church In
Study at 9
am. We have classes for
all ages. There’s a place
just for you!
Memorial Day is especially important as we
are reminded almost daily of the great sacrifices
that the men and women
of the Armed Services
make to defend our way
of life. Praise and thank
a veteran today who
have and still are out

Greetings in the Name of Him Who is able to keep us from
falling! It is with Jesus Joy that I greet you in the Spring Issue of our Newsletter. We have made it through Winter and
now we are in Spring.
Spring brings us the Resurrection and new life. Spring shows
us that we can begin again. Spring lets us know that what
has been dormant now has new life. You may have fallen but
you don’t have to stay down. You can get up, dust yourself off
and keep on living.
Let’s use this time wisely. We have been given another chance
to get it right. We cannot go back and correct the mistakes of
the past. We don’t have to repeat those mistakes. We can
begin anew. Praise God!
Pastor Davis
Owned, it is riches;
studied, it is Wisdom;
trusted, it is salvation; Loved, it is character; and Obeyed, it
is power.
11th Anniversary as pastor of God’s House Baptist
Minister
It has been 11 years now, and God has richly blessed us. The House
has experienced spiritual and physical growth, miraculous healings,
and financial bounty: First, because God is gracious and good. Secondly, because we have an Under-Shepherd that hears, preaches, and obeys
His voice. Our Pastor has humbled himself in the sight of the Lord,
that we may be lifted up. As we go forth and embark upon all that the
Lord has in store for this great House. Let’s continue to keep our Pastor lifted in prayer. Pray that he remains, as the anagram of his name,
Floyd - faithful, loyal, obedient, yielding, and determined to lead us
with excellence on this victorious journey.
Dr. Floyd W. Davis, we love you, we thank you and we salute you as
our Pastor.

“Her children Arise and Call
Her Blessed”
Proverbs 31:28
She tells her child to have no fear;
She comforts and is always near;
She seems to drive away all pain;
She teaches truth—from lies refrain; She’s kind and good and
knows what’s best; She does her
household chores with zest. She’ll
help you, when you are in doubt;
She’ll make a way, you will find
out; She brightens life, when things
seem rough; She cheers you, when
the going’s tough; She teaches you
there’s One on High, Who’ll keep
you, if you just draw nigh. She
makes all sadness fly away; She
tells you how to live and pray.
May our lives be to this dear one
A blessing rich for all she’s done!
This one, to whom we give our love
Is “Mother” sent from God above.

questions and answers was
Dr. Puffenber, a urologist
who is a very outstanding
doctor and practices in the
Roanoke Valley.

What do you want people to
remember about you? What do
you want them to think of you?
God wants us to be God pleasers and not people pleasers but
it is okay to have a good reputation. The Bible teaches us that
we should let our lights shine so
that people can give God Glory.
Proverbs 20: 11 says “Even a
child is known by his or her
doings”. This means your behavior and actions. Teachers
often write remarks on report
cards that say “pleasure to
teach” or shows great promise”.
But sometimes the comments
say “too talkative or disrupts
class”. Think about it. What
do you want to be known for?

Have you ever felt like God just kept putting
something on your heart? Sometimes he’s preparing us for something he wants us to do or
someone that He wants us to minister to. I’m
not exactly sure why it seems like everything I
read or hear recently is about reaching out and
encouraging one another. Maybe it’s because I
need to be on watch for some opportunity God
is going to place before me. Isn’t it exciting to
think what God may have in store for us? Everyday, we cross paths with people who need to
feel loved and encouraged. They may not have
any idea how special they are to us and in the
eyes of God. How easy it is for us to lose focus
and scramble our priorities. We get so busy
doing such good things that we miss out on one
of the highest things God created us to do
“encourage one another.”
The power of the spoken word is great in that
words are like seeds. What we plant will grow.
If we plant selfish, destructive and critical
words, we will reap relationships that are
selfish, destructive and critical. On the other
hand, if we consistently plant words of encouragement, love and genuine care, our relationships will flourish! Look for the good in people!
Be a cheerleader for the people God sends your
way.
“Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord: keep watch over the
door of my lips.”

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of the summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in Spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
Then God combined their qualities.
When there was nothing more to
add,
He knew his masterpiece was complete.
And so,
He called it…….Dad.
