Regenerative Injection Therapy
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Stem Cells
Derived from Your Own Body
• Degenerative Joints
• Tendon Injuries, Pain
• Hair Loss
• COPD
• Peripheral Vascular Disease
• Facial Skin Rejuvination
Joints, tendons and ligaments deteriorate with age and injury. Medical intervention may then become
necessary to lessen pain or improve the condition. Elderly patients sometimes cannot take the risks of
extensive major surgery or are reluctant to undergo joint replacements. Athletes also seek to achieve
the maximum result with minimum down time.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) contains huge reservoirs of biologically active proteins and growth factors
that are vital in accelerating tissue repair and regeneration for non-operative treatment of degenerating
joints and or injuries. Stem cells taken from your own bone marrow and/or fat may also be used in
conjunction with PRP. This combination of therapy injection into painful, degenerative or injured tissue
can regenerate the tissue and is frequently effective in relieving pain. When used in the early stages of
degeneration or injury this therapy may reduce the need for surgery before the damage progresses.
New, cutting-edge procedures are generally not covered by Medicare or commercial insurance
companies. Therefore the cost of the treatment is at the expense of the individual. The cost and number
of treatments required will vary based on the individual response to treatment.
The Institute of Interventional Pain Management under the guidance of Dr. Deborah H. Tracy is now providing PRP and Stem Cell
Therapies for multiple conditions including: degenerative joint disease, tendonopathies, ligamentous sprain or tears, hair loss,
facial rejuvenation, ischemic peripheral vascular disease and COPD.

Summer Tennis Lessons - Tennis Center Courts
Private lessons for one, two, three, four, five, and six are
available from your USPTA Certified Tennis Professional.
Dial 352-232-0321 to arrange a lesson with Judy Jeanette.
If you would like to check her qualifications you may do so
by visiting USPTA.com and search “tennis pros”.
Super Drill is a class for Intermediate to Advanced
Players that want to drill and work out hard. It is similar to
cardiac tennis except is more game based (more fun). It
meets from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings. The
fee is $15.00 per visit.
Advanced Doubles Class is a class for players that want to
play doubles like the USTA 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and above
players….as a team. We practice actual hitting technique
(mostly volleys) used while playing doubles; you will
learn tactics and strategy applications; you will play sets
with supervision and occasional video. This class meets
on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The fee is $20.00 per
visit.
Tennis FUN-damentals Class will resume in November.
Summer Tennis Camps for Juniors
Camps are scheduled throughout the summer. They are
offered by your USPTA Professional, Judy J. Dial 352232-0321 to get detailed information or email your
questions to [email protected]. (Young at heart
Adults are welcome to attend/take part in any junior
camp).
Doubles …according to the USTA Rules
“Positioning before and during the point”
Other than the server, you may take any position that you
want as long as you do not invade the boundaries of your
opponent's court. You may obstruct your opponent's
view….and it is not considered unsportsmanlike. The
server's partner may stand in a position that obstructs the
view of the receiver. The receiver's partner may also take
any position he or she wants on their side of the net.
Either receiving partner may even stand in directly the
service box…this is regarded as “legal gamesmanship”.
The net player may make movements during the service
toss. The basic rule is that any feinting or changing of
position is allowed. Racquet-waving, foot-stomping,
talking or making noise in an attempt to distract, is not
allowed. More specific restrictions on movement are not
authorized by the rules and would probably open up a can
of worms if they were. So….even radical movements,
such as a net player bolting across to the “I” formation
while the service toss is up, are allowed.
By Judy J. Jeanette, Director of Tennis and
USPTA Certified Elite Tennis Professional
May Flowers
April showers bring May flowers. That
statement works up north…but we have
flowers year round at GlenLakes. We also
have year round tennis at our tennis club. The number of
players on the courts may thin a bit because we lose a few
snowbirds but the Boyz and Girlz of Summer continue to
play on at GlenLakes. The intensity and fun spirit is still
present.
A reminder of the Summer Hour Change
As of April 13 through October 16 the hours of all GL Club
sanctioned mixers start at 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Tennis
courts cannot be reserved during these hours.
Summer Rules are in Effect
Beginning April 13 through October 16 the official hours
of the GL Tennis Club Mixers are from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
What this means is that the Tennis Center Courts will be
automatically reserved for all scheduled GL Sponsored
Mixers during the hours of 8:00 to 10:00. Lady and Gents
Mixers are on Monday and Wednesday. Ladies Day is on
Tuesday. Men's Day is on Friday.
Members are expected to mix and play with all
participating players. One set with regular scoring is
played. At the conclusion of the set the players must
announce that a court is open and take their turns sitting out
and/or mixing in with other courts.
Please come to the courts with NEW tennis balls. You will
be expected to take your turn providing tennis balls for the
morning play. (Don't forget the cooler of beer)
Things that all GL Members need to be aware of….
• All club sponsored activities, mixers, socials,
tournaments have priority over all other play.
• All leagues and tournaments are to be sanctioned by
GL and administered by the club professional.
• There is no person or group of players that have
special “rights” to any particular court or time of day.
The courts are on a first come reservation system.
Everyone has the right to play whenever a proper
reservation is made.
• All non-member GlenLakes residents or outside
visitors/guests MUST pay a $10.00 guest fee to
play. This fee is to be paid to the GL accounting
office. Members that invite guests must follow the
rules set by the club. Observation of members
ignoring this rule will be reported to the HOA/GL
Partnership.
• Members are responsible to brush and floss the courts
after play.
• CLAY COURT tennis shoes are REQUIRED. Use

GlenLakes Tennis News cont’d
Either receiver may move as much as he or she wants, even
during the service toss. For example: During the toss you
may suddenly move to one side to set up a forehand return.
Or you may move up closer to put a psychological pressure
on the server. You may even stand way off to the side of the
court and run back on during the toss.
GlenLakes offers an Advanced Doubles Class every
Friday night, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, that will help you learn how
to use the rules to your advantage and players begin to play
doubles like the Bryan Bro's. Seriously !!
Next Month….when do you call a “LET” ???
Tennis News from Roving Reporter Velma George
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen...
This roving reporter is really roving right now. As you are
reading this, I am on a ship somewhere between Ft.
Lauderdale and San Diego. There is no tennis on board and
since I have been on the DL since February, there isn't
much tennis news rolling around in my brain and this will
be short, and hopefully, sweet.
There was speculation in last month's Tennis News about
GlenLakes adding tennis courts to their community and
how/why the Partnership decided to install clay tennis
courts instead of hard courts. After a little research, it
seems that back in the “90's”, Judy Jeanette was consulted
for her opinion and the clay courts were her suggestion.
Thank you Judy!!!!
Also, back in the “90's”, Timber Pines were on the fence
about whether to add clay or hard courts to their club after
getting the OK to add six courts to their community. Again,
Judy was consulted. She made the recommendation to add
clay courts. But you all know the squeaky wheel gets the
attention….and usually gets their way. Well, the squeaky
wheel pushed for hard courts and got their hard courts…to
the dismay of many. Timber Pines have since had to
replace the hard courts with clay courts…a very expensive
undertaking.
Our GlenLakes community is lucky to have a consulting
expert like Judy. We are also lucky that GL management
had the foresight to ask and listen to her advice. GlenLakes
was the first to have clay courts in Hernando County. And
we still have some of the best clay courts in the area!!
The only thing that would make the Timber Pine's courts
better than GlenLakes would be the “Auggie X-Factor.”
Auggie would need to be in charge of maintaining
them…..but we're keeping Auggie! Auggie is the reason
our courts are always maintained, groomed and ready for
our matches. We can never say it enough… “Thank you
Auggie!!!!”
That's pretty much it for me. Have a great summer, all you
snow birds have safe travels. Keep hitting that little yellow
ball and I'll see you next fall.

to a good solid start in recent months. We
have conducted several programs

Our current members include: Nancy Anderson, Tom

The Ralph Glover Member-Member Tournament was
played March 27th and 28th. Despite a rained shortened first
day, requiring some teams to play 27 holes on the second
day, the tournament was completed. This was
accomplished successfully thanks to the efforts of Tom
McCrary and his staff to accommodate the early Saturday
shotgun. Thanks to Ralph Glover for the beer keg! The
overall winners were Bruce Del Guidice and Skip Gunther.

April 20, 2015
Dear Roseann,
A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a friend from
my past. She was visiting near Brooksville and wanted to
come and have a golf game. She and I competed in many
golf tournaments when we were young. She is a former
Canadian Amateur Champion and I was thrilled to
entertain her at GlenLakes. We had a wonderful time and
as we played she kept raving about the golf course. She
remarked how all the holes were different and separate
from each other, some uphill and some down, the trees, the
beautiful homes bordering the course and the friendly
people she met following our game. When she left, she said
to me, “I hope you appreciate this place!”

The results of the remaining April tournaments (The
GLMGA/GLLGA Mixer, and the Two Man Eclectic) will
be reported in the next Eagle. We have another ABCD
scramble scheduled for May 21st. The Board would like
your input on how to make these scrambles more
interesting to you.
For example, would you prefer to make your own teams?
Or would you prefer to do away with ABCD scrambles and
go to a best ball format? Or can you suggest something
else? Please get your input to a Board Member.
The Classic Member-Guest tournament Committee has
been making great progress planning this year's
tournament. Please sign-up quickly as spots are going fast.
Once we have 48 teams signed up, you will have to put
your name on the waiting list. We usually have a few
people drop out that allows people to move from the
waiting list to the signed up list. We have 46 teams signed
up as of April 5th!
The Board has received a request regarding our interest
level in participation in potential interclub matches.
Please get back to a Board member if you are interested. It
would need to be a solid commitment from the player, and
travel will be required.
That made me think about my last fifteen years here and the
things I appreciate.
• My house on the 3rd hole with its many
windows and view of the golf course
• My good friends I am lucky to have as playing
partners
• The wonderful food prepared by Chef Mik and
his staff
• Tom, our Pro, who has given me many lessons.
He is a great teacher! Kathy, his assistant, a
friend. She works so hard an always has a smile
for everyone.
Last of all, Roseann, I appreciate all the time and effort you
have put into this club. I enjoy our fold together and all you
do to make our stay so enjoyable. Thank you and all the
best in retirement.
Sincerely,
Mary

The report on “Hooray for Hollywood”
Spring Luncheon, Fashion Show and Raffle
will be published in the June issue of the Eagle. This event
is the highlight of our club year, and the raffle is the
primary fund-raiser for our charity donations. Our
members were busy last month soliciting businesses for
items and certificates; and/or creating theme baskets from
items either purchased or hand-made for the benefit raffle
at the Show.
One of this year’s donated items, was the 18th hole flag,
autographed by 29 golfing pro legends, from the Ace
Group Classic, held in Naples, Florida this February. The
flag was designated for a Special Raffle in order to make
even more money for our sponsored organizations. A
special thanks to Amanda and Rocky Venn for this
contribution.
knowledge of the community around us.
“Sharing the Harvest” is our philanthropic production.
Each year, we have “raised” funds to provide many other
local charities and organizations with financial assistance
and donated items to help them “flourish”. Due to our
involved, caring, and generous members we have
contributed funds this past club year to: The Life Center,
The Closet of Hope, People Helping People Sunday
Blessings dinners, Friends of Chinsegut, and Friends of
Weeki Wachee Springs.
A park bench was purchased and is located just inside the
gate at Weeki Wachee Springs for visitors to use. The
plaque reads:

Although digging in the dirt is no longer the focus of the
club, our members are certainly doing a lot of “gardening”
of a different kind in our area. Through their contributions
of ideas, time, energy and money, they have been
“enriching the soil” of the local community and
themselves by:
“Planting Seeds Scholarship” that was established in 20032004. The amount of the scholarship was raised last year to
$1500 and to date a total of $10,000 has been awarded to
seniors of Hernando County Schools. This year’s winner
will be chosen from the 16 applicants. A check and
certificate will be presented at the Luncheon, when the
winner is announced. Sponsoring the Bingo twice a year, is
providing us with additional “nutrients to germinate” these
students’ goals.
“Growing Strong Friendships and Stimulating Abundant
Blossoming” of our membership, is another goal of the
Garden Club. Our programs and activities are helpful to
“establish deep roots” by fellowship and an increase in our

The total amount of funds donated to date by the Garden
Club is approximately $22,000!
Looking from this perspective, the Garden Club, has
increased its “planting field”, gained “vigorous growth” in
its membership and activities, given needed “tending” to
our members”, and provided a “colorful array” of benefits

Italian Renaissance Club
Come ci siamo davvero godere il favoloso
clima della Florida, il piacere di stare
insieme ai nostri tanti incontri diversi.
Abbiamo certamente teniamo occupati!
As we thoroughly enjoy the fabulous Florida
weather, we take pleasure in being together at our many
diverse gatherings. We certainly know how to keep busy!
The St. Joseph celebration with Lou Fortunato entertaining
and feasting on Argentos delicious zeppole was all we
intended it to be; joyful, friendly and a good time. Lou is
the consummate entertainer. From his many jokes about
growing up Italian to his singing and the joy he exudes, he
outdid himself. The dancing was enjoyable and singing
along to many of our all time favorites made for a very
good time.
The next gathering was the group who, going by bus,
attended the Festa Italiano in Ybor City. Again, in true
Italian fashion, there was plenty of food and entertainment.
Michael Amanti, an old favorite of many of us highlighted
the list of stars. Some pictures from these events are on the
following page.
Our annual Festa, held here at GlenLakes near the bocce
courts, is a chance to sample each others' cooking skills and
a chance to meet and greet old friends and new members.
It is always a wonderful time.
Our People Helping People project was a huge success.
One hundred and eleven guests were served a dinner of
sausage and peppers over ziti, prepared and served by
volunteers form the I. R. C. In typical Italian fashion, there
was more than enough food so that enabled some of the
guests to take food home for another meal. Thank you,
Annette Davis, for chairing the event and thank you to all
the cooks and the servers who helped make it a success.
As we approach May, we ready ourselves for our annual
end of the year dinner. This year, it will be held at La Bella
Napoli on Monday, May 18. The dinner is being chaired by
Stanley Antonoff. Thank you Stanley for stepping up and
volunteering.
Another very important "save the date" is March 18, 2016
(we do think ahead). On that special date, we will
commemorate and celebrate the tenth anniversary of the
founding of the Italian Renaissance Club. The dream of
Marianne and Joe Di Marco not only came to fruition but
blossomed and grew beyond all expectations; and you are
all part of that dream today. We will celebrate with a true
GALA. The planning has already begun so circle the date
and be sure to be a part of this very special ( here before you
know it) upcoming event.
Where has this year gone? Soon many of our snowbirds
will be leaving. It seems like yesterday that I wrote the first
article. Thank you for being part of our club, for being part
of reviving traditions and for helping us re-discovers our
roots.

A Note from President, Mary Vuolo .
It looks like spring has sprung. Everything is in full bloom,
from the green leaves on the trees, to the new baby sandhill
cranes and the cutest little owls that were spotted on Hole
14. Our Thursday participation seems to be picking up with
new faces joining us weekly. All are welcome. The games
are fun and the ladies are great to play with. During the last
Red and Blue, the teams were divided into one high and
one low handicap. I played with two ladies that I had not
played with in a long time and had the best time. So, no
matter what your handicap is, we would love to have you
join us, sign up sheets are posted weekly in the ladies
locker room.
Quote for the month, ”Do your best, one shot at a time and
then move on. Remember that golf is just a game.” Nancy

THE RULES OF PLAY – Judy Voiers , Rules Chair
Substituted Ball
A player has improperly substituted a ball and incurs the
general penalty (2 strokes) when she makes a stroke after
replacing her original ball with her favorite putting ball on
the putting green.

GlenLakes Ladies
Golf Association cont’d
15-1. General
A player must hole out with the ball played from the teeing
ground, unless the ball is lost or out of bounds or the player
substitutes another ball, whether or not substitution is
permitted (see Rule 15-2).
15-2. Substituted Ball
A player may substitute a ball when proceeding under a
Rule that permits the player to play, drop or place another
ball in completing the play of a hole. The substituted ball
becomes the ball in play.
If a player substitutes a ball when not permitted to do so
under the Rules, that substituted ball is not a wrong ball; it
becomes the ball in play. If the mistake is not corrected as
provided in Rule 20-6 and the player makes a stroke at a
wrongly substituted ball, he loses the hole in match play
or incurs a penalty of two strokes in stroke play under
the applicable Rule and, in stroke play, must play out the
hole with the substituted ball.
Exception: If a player incurs a penalty for making a stroke
from a wrong place, there is no additional penalty for
substituting a ball when not permitted.
For more information, each GLLGA member is
encouraged to refer to the USGA's Rules of Golf and the
Rules of Amateur Status 2012-2015. If you do not already
have one, copies are available in the Pro Shop.
Tips on Golf Course Etiquette
Good golf etiquette should be practiced on the course, in
the clubhouse and at all other areas of the facility.
• Assure others are out of range before hitting the
ball.
• Yell “fore” if there is the slightest chance your shot
will hit someone.
• Observe and respect any dress codes.
• Learn the rules and play by them.
• Always stand very still and be quiet when another
player is ready to hit.
• Be courteous to other golfers and the staff.

St. Patrick’s Day
By Carol Sachs, Secretary
photos by Sandi Conti
I have never seen so many
shades of green clothes in one
place as I did on St. Patrick’s
Day. Twenty-three of our
members enjoyed the
camaraderie and the delicious
meal of corned beef and
cabbage which was prepared
especially for us by the Irish
chef at Brian’s Place. On
March 28th, a Pizza
Ginny Gies and Audrey Collins
Extravaganza took place at
the lovely home of President
Dona Gilbody. More than
twenty people attended. We
had a good time visiting and
tasting the many varieties of
pizza. April 3rd was a trip to
the Show Palace in Hudson
where their performance of
The King and I was enjoyed
by all.
Looking forward into May, on
Louise Luffsey and Dorise Yelovich
the 8th, we will go to Tampa
for the Norman Rockwell exhibit and
on the 13th it’s Hard Rock Casino. May
25th is Memorial Day at the Club.
The Singles Club always welcomes
new members. We encourage you to
join. Our next meeting is May 5th at
4:30 pm in the ballroom. If you have
any questions about meetings or
membership, please call Dona Gilbody
at 508-523-5307. Together is the nicest

GlenLakes Scarlett Belles
On March 20th the Scarlett Belles took a ride on the Jolley Trolley all the way to Clearwater beach.
As the promo goes "Leave your car where you are" and enjoy our fun and reliable
service to the beach. So we parked our cars in Tarpon Springs and hopped on the
Jolley Trolley. When we arrived at Clearwater beach we dined at Frenchy's
Rockaway Grill. Frenchy's chain of restaurants was established in 1981 by
Michael Preston who was born in Quebec, Canada and gained the nickname
Frenchy. For the last three decades running, the Frenchy’s restaurants are still
regarded as a staple for delicious, fresh-from-the-Gulf seafood at reasonable
prices in a fun and casual beach atmosphere. The She-Crab Soup is not to be
missed as many of our Belles can attest to.
Heading back to Tarpon Springs we made a stop in Dunedin where we checked
out some of the shops and enjoyed some homemade ice cream at Strachan's. One
of our Belles took the opportunity to check out the Dunedin Historical Museum
and was delighted with the exhibits on local pioneers and sports plus state citrus
and railroad enterprises.
It was time to hop back on the Trolley and
head for Tarpon Springs where we picked up
our cars and headed home. It was a lovely
day spent with some lovely ladies. A good
time was had by all.
Our next event is our StarLite Cruise out of
Clearwater. Look for photos in the next
issue of the Eagle.

There is so much more to being an
orthopaedic surgeon than holding a scalpel.
Michael W. Higgins, DO, PA

“Throughout my surgical experience Dr.
Higgins continued to be compassionate
and patient oriented. While in the pre-op
waiting room he visited with me and my
husband. He put us at ease assuring my husband that he would
come into the waiting room to speak to him as soon as the
procedure was complete. He was at my side in the operating
room as the anesthesiologist put me to sleep. I stayed in the
hospital four days. Dr. Higgins came to check on my progress
every day.” – Kristin J.S.

Buzz On Business
Want to Build Business? Try Holding an Open House
There's no shortage of tactics to acquire customers at
the integrated marketer's disposal; direct mail, print
ads, PR and a host of others, each with its upside and
ability to capture attention.
But the most popular acquisition method by far, says a
Forrester study of 208 SMB marketing decision
makers, is meeting with people face-to-face, one-onone. In order of preference these face-time driven
tactics include: personal networking (used by 95% of
respondents); tradeshows and industry gatherings
(89%); and a tack favored by 86% of those surveyed,
in-person events–such as a company open house.
How an Open House Can Open Doors
For many small businesses, hosting an open-house is
an attractive alternative to attending a big-buck
tradeshow seven states away. If you're a new business
(or just new to the area), your open house could take
the form of a grand opening, while an established
company might consider celebrating an anniversary or
other milestone, showcasing a new product or
technology, or publicly recognizing a valued customer
or partner.
5 Ways to Do It Right
Here are some ways to save time and money, and
increase your chances of success, including a few
relevant tips summarized from Marketo's Event
Marketing Success Center:
1. Start with realistic, targeted goals: Think beyond
big registration and attendance numbers; know
whom you're inviting and why; an event wellattended by the wrong people will decrease ROI
Printing and Marketing Services
We can help promote your event with:
•Posters
•Brochures
•Social Media
•Retractable Banners
•Signs and Banners
•Business Cards
•Direct Mailing Services
•Award Winning Graphic
Design
•Window Clings
and squander precious networking opportunities.
2. Incorporate a strong theme and be creative.
Hold a team brainstorm to concept fun and viable
ideas; one Long Island chocolatier adapted Willie
Wonka's “golden ticket” idea for his grand opening
and drew in more than 3,000 visitors.
3. Include multiple touches. Start by segmenting,
cleaning and organizing your in-house lists.
Request names from salespeople, managers and
executives to avoid excluding any hot prospects or
VIPs. Personal contact might be the marketer's
preference but email, social media and all the rest
still play a vital role in promoting any event.
4. Make sure you have plenty of signage.
Directional and/or information parking lot signs
help guests easily park and join the festivities
faster. Inside the building, posters, tent cards and
banners help guests feel welcome, and make
check in more inviting and fun. Want more impact?
Apply colorful window clings or play a company
video on a big screen in the lobby.
5. Hand out goodie bags at check in. People love
getting gifts, even those of the trinket variety. For
memorability, interactivity and cost-savings,
promotional items beat most other forms for
advertising, including TV, and radio.
Marketers favor in-person events because they work.
With some thoughtful preparation and support from a
reliable creative services provider, it's possible to
plan and host an outing that attendees will remember
(and talk about) for months or years to come.
