WELCOME! Brief history: • In 2013, we celebrated 50 years of continuous higher education in Oradea and also we attained “High Degree of Confidence” rating. • In this year, we celebrate 235 years since the establishment of higher education in Oradea. In 1780, a higher education institution in Philosophy was created in Oradea. In 1788, it became the Faculty of Law; yet it was transferred to Cluj‐Napoca in 1934. • The continuous higher education – on the 1st of October 1963, an order of the Ministry of Education settled a three‐year Pedagogical Institute in Oradea. • In May 1990, a Decree of the Romanian Government established the Technical University of Oradea, later called the University of Oradea. • The mission of the University of Oradea is to train specialists in different fields of science and culture and to provide knowledge for social and economic development. – 15.724 BA students (641 foreigners), 1.666 MA students and 322 doctoral students, 678 residents, 4.897 candidates for didactic training and 1.282 candidates for didactic degrees; – Approximate 1.062 members of the academic staff; – The University of Oradea is the 19th university in the country out of 100 public and private higher education institutions as a result of an assessment carried out by the Ministry of Education, Research Youth and Sports in 2011. MSc in Advanced Mechatronics Systems (2 years) at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Management c. MA in Tourism, Management and Planning (2 years) at the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport.
