Jensen Air:Link WBR 6954 configuration

Jensen Air:Link WBR 6954 configuration
This guide shows you how to setup the router for Internet access for both your cabled and
wireless network. In our setup of wireless network we describe the use of wireless security.
Before you begin
- You need a network card (cabled or wireless) installed on your computer. How to install
this should be described in the user manual for your network card.
- When using wireless network cards you must first find available networks and then connect
to this network. The router will be discovered as Jensen AirLink 6954. How you connect
to a wireless network should be described in the user manual for your wireless network card.
- In this manual we show how to setup your router for Internet access with wireless security
activated. For more advanced setup please refer to the complete English user manual on the
CD or check the website www.jensenscandinavia.com.
Physical connection
1) Connect the power adapter to the router's Power connector and to an earthed power
outlet.
2) Connect a network cable from the ADSL modem/cable modem to the WAN-port on the
router. Check the instructions for the ADSL modem/cable modem to see whether a crossover
cable is required.
3) When using PCs in a cabled network, you connect a normal network cable from the
network card/adapter of the PC to one of the 4 LAN ports on the router. When the PC and
the router is switched on the LED to the designated port will light as indication that the
connection is established.
4) If you want to connect the router via wireless connection, see manual for your wireless
adapter or computer. This router does not have any wireless security activated by default, so
all you have to do is search for wireless networks and connect to this router.
Login to the router
- The router will now be the device that connects you to the Internet. There is therefore no
need to use additional software for connecting. To add your Internet account to the router,
you must first log on to the menu via your normal browser. You can do that in the following
way:
- Go to Start- Kjør and type in the address
http://192.168.1.254
- Click OK.
- If you are using a machintosh start internet explorer and
enter http://192.168.1.254 and click enter.
The router menu will now appear in your
normal browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).
If the router menu does not appear, see the chapter ”Help and customer support” in the
online manual on the attached CD for more help.
HOW TO SETUP THE ROUTER FOR INTERNET CONNECTION
Your Internet setup is depending on which Internet provider you use.
If you don't know what setup your Internet supplier use, contact your Internet provider.

(Used by most Internet providers)
* Setup 2 - Username and Password (PPPoE)

- Click TCP/IP Settings -> WAN Interface
in left menu.
- Choose DHCP Client in WAN Access Type.

In the Encryption field you select WEP and then
click Set WEP Key.
Note! If you have a firewall or software that
blocks popups, they may block the window that
is supposed to appear. If this happens, turn off
the software and try again.
In the Key Length field, select 64-bit
In the Key Format field, select Hex (10

When you click Apply Changes the changes
will be saved, and wireless access will be
blocked. It is therefore important to make a
note of the settings, so that you can
subsequently log on to the router. You must
change the encryption on all of the wireless
clients to the same system in order to regain
access via a 64-bit WEP encrypted
connection. The instructions for your wireless
card should include a description of how to set this up on your wireless card. If you forget the
settings, you will have to reset the router and deactivate encryption on the wireless clients
before starting again.
