The Q1000 ships with WPA2 on as default.We'll review the easy
steps on how to change the type of wireless security used on your
Q1000 Qwest Wireless N VDSL Modem Router, from WPA to WEP.

Step
The instructions below are for the Q1000 Qwest Wireless N VDSL
Modem Router with QAQ01-31.00L.29 firmware.
Go to "4. Select a key/passphrase type
below". Then click the button next to
“Use Custom Key/Passphrase. Select the
type of WEP Key that you want: 64/40 bit or 128/108 bit.

• Q1000 Qwest Wireless N VDSL Modem Router
• Computer connected to the Router
Now enter a new password or WEP Key. If you selected 64/40 bit,
your key must be 10 characters long. If you selected 128/108 bit,
your key must be 26 characters long. All characters must be hexidecimal, i.e A-F or 0-9.

Step
On any computer that is
connected to the Internet, type http://192.168.0.1 in the web
browser window and then press Enter.

Write down your new wireless network
name and password.Then click Apply.
Step
Click Wireless Setup.
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the wireless
name and/or wireless password for your Q1000 Qwest Wireless
N VDSL Modem Router.

Select “WEP” from the menu on the left.

Go to “2. Set the WEP state.” And make
sure that the circle to the left of Enable
is selected.
