Pastor Geiger Receives Call
Brothers and sisters,
This past Sunday (Mar. 8) the Lord through his church called
me to serve as pastor to Christ The Lord Lutheran Church in
Clearwater, Florida. They are a church of about 120
communicants, many of those 55 and older, but are now
looking to reach out to their community and the younger
population. Over the next weeks, with prayerful deliberation
and I am sure many conversations, the Lord will lead to a
decision to continue the current call to Good Shepherd or
follow the call to Florida. I and my family welcome your
prayers, conversation and your input in evaluating the current
and future ministry at Good Shepherd and the role we have
as part of that ministry team moving into the future. – Pastor
Mike

Stewardship Thot
The words of Matthew 20:28 – “Just as the
Son of Man did not come to be served, but
to serve, and to give His life a ransom for
many” – remind us that the life of Jesus was
one of total sacrifice. It is clear the Jesus
wanted to develop a servant spirit in His
disciples and in us. He said in Matthew
20:26…”whoever wants to become great
among you must be your servant.” He lived
for His heavenly Father and for others!

“Dinner Out”–Friday, Mar 27, 6:30 pm
The OWLS will be hosting its popular “Dinner Outing” on
Friday, March 27, at 6:30 PM. All members of the
congregation (55 years or older) are welcome. This year
we will be returning to the Mediterranean Cruise Café in
Burnsville (12500 Nicollet Avenue) for an enjoyable evening
of casual dining starting at 6:30 PM. We will be having the
buffet dinner that offers a large selection of the restaurant’s
special entrées, including dessert – all for $20.00 per person
(excluding tax and gratuity). This is an excellent way of trying
different foods you may not be willing to choose if ordering a
single entrée (there will be plenty of your favorite selection so
you will not leave hungry). Reserve the date and sign up
today – consider inviting a friend. You do not have to be an
OWLS member to attend. The last day to sign up is March
22nd. The sign-up sheet and menu details are located across
from the mail bins. Hope to see you there!

Something New….
Member Support is working with the Outreach Team to
develop a new "Getting Started" program. This is directed
towards new members, prospective members and interested
visitors. The first event is scheduled for April 12th following
the late service. A pizza lunch is planned.
We are seeking a few individuals to help with and participate
in this event and possible future events.
First, a volunteer to take a pizza order, place it, go to pick up
the food/drinks and bring the order back to church.
Second, it is desired to have 1-3 individuals or couples
participate in the welcoming team for this event. Expect to
share your experience at GSLC and/or School, dialogue with
member prospects, question/answer sharing, and other
connection-building activities. These volunteers would not be
expected to lead, rather to participate. Will join with Getting
Started presentation team. Contact Rick Osberg
([email protected]), Lisa Carmichael or Pastor Dave for
questions.
