2015 ROBERT C. DIGGES SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The Robert C. Digges Scholarship, awarded by The Philadelphia Foundation in
partnership with Graduate! Philadelphia, is offering $30,000 in educational scholarships
to Comebackers— returning adult students finishing a two or four year college degree.
Awards range from $1,000 - $2,000 for each of two consecutive years: academic year
2015-2016 and academic year 2016-2017. Second year awards are contingent on
continuing to meet criteria. Awards will be applied directly to tuition balance at the
student’s college or university.

Hill College, Community College of Philadelphia, Peirce College, Penn State University,
Philadelphia University, Rosemont College, Temple University, Thomas Edison State College,

Students who received this scholarship last year are not eligible to apply again this year.

CRITERIA
Currently enrolled students who fit the following criteria are eligible to apply:
•
Resident of Philadelphia
•
Enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year degree completion program at a college or university in the
Graduate! Philadelphia partnership
•
Have filed the FAFSA for the current year
•
Part-time or full-time student
•
Maintain a 2.5 GPA based on the courses completed as a returning student (not based on
college attendance prior to current completion program.)
TIMELINE
All applicants will be notified by June 30 by Graduate! Philadelphia, whether they have been selected
to receive a scholarship or not. Please, no phone calls.
After the award announcement, The Philadelphia Foundation will contact the recipients of the awards
to ensure that the scholarship payment is sent directly to their identified college or university.
Colleges and universities in the Graduate! Philadelphia partnership are: Alvernia University, Chestnut
Hill College, Community College of Philadelphia, Peirce College, Penn State University, Philadelphia
University, Rosemont College, Temple University, Thomas Edison State College, and West Chester
University.
