For entertainment check out our Kids Zone, the Chill Out Quarter and Food Alley. Lunchtime heralds the grand entrance of the Heroes and Villains Parade, with all the racing beds (and runners!) dressed up to depict characters from books, theatrical / musical events, TV shows, comicstrips and even the silver screen. Before the bed race kicks off at 2pm, there are live action displays from the All Star Cheerleaders Performance Crew, Caribbeanz Southern Stars Steelpan Band, Great South Road Ballet Academy, Pipi Paopao and Te Kapa o Te Rangi Mata Rau, KiwiBubbleSoccer and more. Depending on fitness, race team runners take 15-45mins to complete our exciting bed race course (with the inevitable surprises!). Hopefully, they still have strength enough to lift their winning trophies, as presented by V8 superstar Greg Murphy! All in all, The King Koil Great Auckland Bed Race is the most fun you’ll ever have in bed – with knobs AND wheels on! Designed by Printed by What’s new for 2015? Come and join in the biggest organised pillow fight that Auckland has ever seen! During the half-time break (between the Heroes and Villains parade and the big bed race itself), we invite you to grab a pillow in exchange for a gold coin donation, and battle your friends and family to your heart’s content. Parents and children alike can join in, as the pillow fight takes place within several securely sectioned-off areas (arranged by age / height), ensuring everyone stays safe whilst having the most fun ever!
