Teresa Mellone / Nicole Lewis (315) 453-7911 ext. 264 Therapy Corner This month’s Therapy Corner topic is Home Safety Assessment. A Home Safety Assessment is a thorough evaluation of your living environment with a goal of increasing your safety and reducing your risk of falls. Unfortunately, falls are all too common among older individuals. Fortunately, there is evidence to suggest that falls are not a normal part of aging and many falls are preventable. One important factor in reducing your risk for falls is prevention! There may be hazards in your home environment that are NOT safe including: scatter rugs, electrical cords, poor lighting, and absent or misplaced handrails…just to name a few. Come join your PRN therapy staff and learn how you can make your home safer. Please refer to your monthly activities calendar for details as to date, time, and location. You don’t want to miss this one! Brought to you by PRN Therapy (315) 200-1418 A Note from the Executive Director…. Dear Residents and Families, As we approach the end of yet another bitter Central New York Winter, I cannot help to be excited for the arrival of Spring! We will soon be preparing for “Spring Clean Up” in our courtyards and the surroundings of our building. Soon enough, we will be spending more time outdoors enjoying the garden, sunshine and putting green. With that said, perhaps we all should consider some “Spring Cleaning” in our apartments. Should you need any assistance, please contact our Housekeeping and/or Maintenance Departments and we will be happy to assist you. Warm Regards, Mark Guida Executive Director “I opened two gifts this morning, they were my eyes.” News & Reminders Parkinson’s Awareness Month Beauty Salon Hours: Tuesday - Friday By appointment, please call Inger at 453-7911 x 236 for an Appointment.
