Annual Report 2014 - Habitat for Humanity

Annual Report 2014
GIVE A “HAND-UP”
TO LOW-INCOME
SOUTHERN ALBERTA
FAMILIES
By partnering with us, you make an impact
today that lasts for generations.
Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta is so thankful to be part of a well-known charitable organization that
is active around the world. When our name is mentioned, people instantly recognize Habitat for its
grassroots culture and positive track record of building affordable housing and promoting homeownership
for low-income families.
This brand recognition is wonderful and we understand the need for affordable housing around the globe,
but the need is also great right here in Alberta. Our province has the highest rate of children living in poverty
in Canada, and more than 35,000 families in Southern Alberta are in need of affordable housing.
As a result of this need and a well-proven model, we are driven to make an impact in your community
through the dedication of our staff and volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors and donors. Since
1990, we have partnered with more than 200 families in Calgary and the outlying communities, and in our
Chapters in Medicine Hat, Brooks, Mountain View County and the Foothills District.
Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to our successes in 2014. Our mission remains clear – to
mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership
as a means of breaking the cycle of poverty.
