While this summer has been milder than usual I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the hot weather. We hope you are keeping cool and protecting yourself from the sun. We have had a busy time as usual with new classes happening and plans for our new garden well underway. We’ll have more news on that next time. … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … ………………… NEWS FROM THE OP SHOP Our book clearance has been going well. We are making room for fresh stock which will begin appearing on the shelves very soon. If you’re visiting our shop during the next few weeks, we may need to ask you to be a little bit patient with us at the counter. We have new procedures for using the cash register and some of us learn more quickly than others! We would like to congratulate Sandra Kennett who is our most recent winner in our Loyalty Card draw. Sandra has won a voucher to spend in our Op-shop. Thanks Sandra for being a loyal shopper with us. … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … ………………… Harmony Week has come around again and just as we did last year, we will be holding a ‘Harmony’ Community Lunch. This will be on March 27th. Come along and share a two-course meal with a multi-cultural flavour and listen to the winners of our *Harmony Poetry competition read their entries. Wear something orange and you could be in the draw to win a prize. *For information on the poetry competition, see page 3. COMMUNITY LUNCHES 12 noon on the last Friday of every month. Upcoming dates for the next few months are: March 27th (Harmony Week) April 24th May 29th Enjoy a delicious 2-course meal in the company of others and be entertained while you eat. A reminder that we will be closed from 4pm on Thursday April 2nd and reopen at 9am on Tuesday April 7th for the Easter Holiday. We wish you all a happy and safe celebration. CLASSES AT THE COMMUNITY HOUSE Our classes are going well. We have had good attendance at the Social Media sessions. If you would like to put your name down for the next round please contact us. We still have places available in ‘Sewing for Beginners’ and ‘Knitting for Beginners’ so get in quick for these. GOOD NEWS FOR LOVERS OF ALL THINGS SPANISH! Our Spanish classes have become so popular that we will be adding an extra class this term! Now you can attend beginners on a Friday morning or more advanced on Wednesday mornings. Call us to find out more. SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE Would you like to de-clutter your home and your life and learn to live more simply? This is a FREE event which runs from 10am until 2pm with stalls, prizes, information, demonstrations and a free Devonshire tea.
