Day for
those who
missed
May 11 @ 6:00 PM
Hampton Park
Hampton depends on volunteers to run the concession.
Without the $$ from the
concession, our registration
fees would be considerably
more.
Sign up for a shift working
the front
counter, prep
cook or even
cook! Duties
would include
cash, taking
orders, restocking,
cleaning as
required and
anything else
needed. No experience is
necessary and we will ensure
that you receive guidance to
make this a fun experience!
Do you realize that we are
already a 1/3 way through
the season? If you want
your concession fees refunded … better sign up!
If you want to help out, but
are not sure what you would
want to do; the time of a
shift doesn’t quite fit your
schedule or someone has
already signed up for the
shift you wanted? Please
contact Kim Dirk at [email protected]
To sign up for a shift, click

rg Under the Concession
section, at the bottom is a
link to the sign up.
Scorekeeping Clinics
There are 2 scorekeeping
clinics scheduled for May on
May 13 & 14 with Hampton’s
own Barb Buchan! Barb is a
long time volunteer and
scorekeeper extraordinaire!
Clinics start @ 5:30 and will
be approximately 1 hour.
Scorekeepers start in Mini
Minors but are required beginning in the Minor league
and up. If your team doesn’t
have a scorekeeper your
team forfeits the game. So
make sure to get several
parents trained up!

Coaches VS Managers Games
Coaches vs. Managers adult only
ball games – this event is for coaches of all levels to come out and play
a game and fun and get to know
each other. We usually play 3
games per season. It is potluck, and
once the game ends, the eating and
spirits begin. The next game is
scheduled for May 23. Come out,
bring your significant other and join
the Hampton volunteer community.
Have You Got a Team Parent???
As the volunteer Coordinator for all
the Hampton Team Parents my role
is to help and support Team Parent
volunteers by providing information, reminders, and being the go
to person for questions, feedback,
concerns, etc. I know when I first
volunteered as a team parent I wasn't sure where to even start and I
was a bit overwhelmed, and I am
pleased to now be helping other
Team Parents.
Everything that happens at
Hampton is done by volunteers
who give countless hours during every season and for some
all year long; so that the children and youth in our community can play baseball/softball, improve their skills, make friends and
have a sense of belonging and selfconfidence. The more people who
help out, the better our League is
for everyone.
Having a Team Parent for your team
is important! The Team Parent is the
main point of contact for communication between the League and your
team. The duties of the team parent
can vary depending on what division
you are in. For the younger teams
(Blastball, Mini TBall, Tball and Mini
Minors) the team parent is responsible for:
Communication


Receives and distributes information from Hampton Little
League to parents and players.
May be asked by the coach to
phone or email parents about
practices, rainouts, etc
The Team Parent is the
main point of contact for
communication between
the League and your team.

Collect items/money to put together a gift basket for the
dance to be auctioned off (can
delegate this task to other parents on the team).
For the older divisions, the team
parent is also responsible for ensuring there are volunteers for Scorekeeping, field setup and clean up, &
selling 50/50 tickets (when home
team on Diamond 1 only) this helps
to pay for our junior umpires.
We want to ensure that all parents
and kids have a great experience
at our park, and making sure that
everyone knows what is happening in the park is critical.
If your team doesn’t have a team
parent—get one!
Organization

Ensure all parents/players have
completed and submitted a
Code of Conduct .

Each team is responsible for
supervising one station on Fun
Day. The team parent organizes
the schedule for each team of 1
hour shifts and provides each
player with their meal ticket.
If you have questions or want to
volunteer, contact

Shout Out!
PERFECT ATTENDANCE goes out
to Oliver Mus-Holmes
and Joseph Kohnen from
the Red Minors Team, for
having attended every practice and
every game so far this season. Nicely done boys!
CONGRATULATIONS to Trey
Hammond from the Black
Major Team, who last week
not only hit his FIRST HOMERUN,
(he actually hit the scoreboard!), but
the first out of the park home run for
this year @ Hampton! WOW!
Are the kids on your team doing
awesome? Did someone hit a home
run for the first time? Who made an
amazing play or catch this week?
Did someone go the extra mile for
your team or the park? Did you capture a moment of a lifetime with
your camera? Or an adorable kid?
Or maybe one of our visiting dogs?
Want to give a “shout out” and recognize someone? Send an email and
pics if you have them to Michelle
Peterson, Team Parent Coordinator
@ [email protected]
WE CAN’T WAIT to hear, see and
share all the great stuff happening
at the park!
The Baskets are coming, the baskets are
coming!
Every year Hampton Little League
hosts a dance to honor and celebrate all the volunteers and families
at our park. One of the time honored traditions of this dance is the
Silent Auction. All teams are responsible for putting together a basket
for the Silent Auction. In the past
teams have done it different ways.
Some teams
the parents
contribute an
item to the
basket, some
teams the
parents give $
to the Team Parent who then purchases and puts together the items
for the baskets. Baskets are generally organized around a theme of
some kind—a night on the town,
gourmet foods, recreation etc.
Its time to start thinking about them
as they will be due by May 28th.
