 Education Week
 Working Bee
 FAMPA
Dear Parents,
This week is designated ‘Education Week’ in
government schools. It is a week set aside to
celebrate state education. We have several
activities happening this week to showcase our
school in the community. They include:
School Tours - On Saturday morning Garry and I
hosted about 30 families through the school. There
will be another school information session for
prospective 2016 families on Wednesday evening
at 7.30pm in the Prep Learning Community.
Parent Walk Throughs - Many of you have
indicated you will be attending the ‘Parent Walk
Throughs’ based on the Maths curriculum. We
have had the pleasure of taking Years 1 and 2 and
Years 3 and 4 parents on walkthroughs so far this
week. It is always a privilege to share and
celebrate the learning journey of our children. I
think many people commented on how complex it
is to teach maths concepts and the change of
teaching styles and methods since we were at
school. I would like to acknowledge and thank the
teachers for planning such informative sessions.
Working Bee
We could not have
asked for a more
beautiful day for the
working bee held last
Saturday
afternoon.
Thanks to approximately
50 families and a group
of hardworking dads
who were onsite at 9am.
Many
tasks
were
completed on the day.
Jobs completed were:
-A new retaining wall
and seat installed outside the art room.

We had many children come along and assist with
sweeping and digging for the afternoon. All
children received their ‘Green Thumb Award’ and
we really appreciated their enthusiasm with all the
jobs.
Thanks to the hard work of the families our school
looks spectacular. A special mention of thanks to
Scott Taylor, Andrew Martin and their band of
helpers who built the retaining wall and to Jenny
Martin who organised the supplies for the BBQ.
FAMPA
The Year 2 FAMPA program begins this week on
Wednesday evening in the Year 5 Learning
Community (near the downstairs library). This is a
wonderful evening of maths and at this stage I
know we have a couple of spots left – if you would
like to participate please contact the office. Thank
you very much to the loyal band of FAMPA
parents who run this program for our students so
efficiently and enthusiastically.
NAPLAN Testing Program
The annual Naplan tests were completed last
week. The Naplan results will be available later in
the year for all parents in Year 3 and 5.
