19th May, 2015 Newsletter No. 15 In This Issue: Education Week Working Bee FAMPA Dear Parents, This week is designated ‘Education Week’ in government schools. It is a week set aside to celebrate state education. We have several activities happening this week to showcase our school in the community. They include: School Tours - On Saturday morning Garry and I hosted about 30 families through the school. There will be another school information session for prospective 2016 families on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm in the Prep Learning Community. Parent Walk Throughs - Many of you have indicated you will be attending the ‘Parent Walk Throughs’ based on the Maths curriculum. We have had the pleasure of taking Years 1 and 2 and Years 3 and 4 parents on walkthroughs so far this week. It is always a privilege to share and celebrate the learning journey of our children. I think many people commented on how complex it is to teach maths concepts and the change of teaching styles and methods since we were at school. I would like to acknowledge and thank the teachers for planning such informative sessions. Working Bee We could not have asked for a more beautiful day for the working bee held last Saturday afternoon. Thanks to approximately 50 families and a group of hardworking dads who were onsite at 9am. Many tasks were completed on the day. Jobs completed were: -A new retaining wall and seat installed outside the art room.
