PENUMBRA BORDERS YOUTH PROJECT LUNCHTIME DROP IN SESSIONS S1-S6
On Wednesday 6 May over lunchtime in the Pastoral interview room (on the way up the stairs to the Pastoral office),
Matilda Jaffrey will offer emotional support and advice to young people experiencing any difficulties relating to their
mental health and wellbeing. No appointment is necessary. This support will be available on the first Wednesday of
every month for all pupils.

S2 Assemblies will be held in the Lecture Hall as follows on Thursday 7th May:
Period 3 – Douglas House
Period 4 – Scott House
Period 5 – Turnbull House
Pupils should go to their class and be brought down to the Lecture Hall by their teachers.

CAREERS
Anyone interested in a career in the Construction industry may wish to attend a Construction Careers Information Evening at
Borders College, Galashiels on 21st May from 6.30-9.30 to learn about apprenticeships. It will also be a chance to have an
informal chat with Construction employers.

S3 WORK EXPERIENCE
Any pupils who are needing to borrow steel toe-capped boots or overalls from school for their Work Experience placement
should attend the Store Cupboard in the Technical Department at 2.00pm on Thursday 7th May. A £5 deposit is required until the
boots/overalls are returned to school. No items will be issued without the deposit.

S4 MODERN APPRENTICESHIPS
Information about a Technical Theatre Modern Apprenticeship based at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh is available from Mrs.
Richardson in Guidance.
Mainetti UK are holding an event at their factory in Jedburgh on Friday 22nd May to highlight modern apprenticeships in their
production facility. It is an open event and you can just turn up on the day. There will be tours at 2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm and
3.30pm.
