I look forward to hearing their ideas in the ‘Bears’ Cave’. Further down the School, in Year R and KS1 the children have produced some fantastic pieces of work inspired by the hatching of our chicks. If you’ve not had the chance to say ‘Hello’ to our new arrivals please do pop in before the end of the week. Congratulations to all those who played at Amesbury School in the U10s cricket tournament on Monday. The team played against much more experienced sides and really held their own, working well together and demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship. Governor Vacancies Please see the attached advert for our current Governor vacancies. The Governors play a crucial role in improving our school, providing strategic direction by offering staff supportive challenge. School Census day I would like to request that on Thursday 21 May, every child in Years R, 1 & 2 orders the FREE school meal to which they are entitled, even if you do not intend to continue doing so. Funding to our school will be determined from the number of pupils who take up this offer on school census day. Dads’ Football Tournament As most of you will be aware the PTA are busy organising this year’s Dads’ 5 aside Football Tournament which takes place on Friday 5 June. The event opens at 6pm with the matches kicking off at 6.30pm. The menu for this day is roast dinner or vegetarian sausages and For the last couple of years we have we also now offer the option of a combined this event with lots of cold picnic bag so there is plenty to summer fair type activities for the choose from! children.
