Holiday Luncheon
We were truly pleased to have had so many of our clients and business associates attend the Holiday Luncheon.
As you will note from the pictures below, the afternoon was filled with the spirit of the season. Hopefully, even
more of you will be able to join us for our annual St. Patrick’s Day Pizza Party in March.
Best Practices for Leaving Effective
Voicemail Messages and Receiving a Return Call
1. Beginning your message with “Hi [name], it’s [your
name]” is preferable to “Hi [name], my name is” due
to the fact that the latter version is more commonly
utilized by strangers and telemarketers.
2. When requesting that someone return your call,
using the word “because” is an unconscious trigger
that increases the likelihood that someone will comply
with your request.
3. Using voicemail in conjunction with email helps
increase awareness about the reason for your call.
4. Consider contacting people at the beginning or end
of the work day, so as not to have your message lost in
the shuffle.
Housekeeping Note
As of February 23, 2012, New
Island Cleaning, which is owned
by John Mendes, will begin
servicing the Suites. Some of you
may already be familiar with the
high quality
carpet and
upholstery
cleaning
that John has provided us in the
past. We hope that our clients
will notice an improvement in
the cleanliness of the common
spaces as well as the offices.
Weekly cleanings will still occur
on Mondays, Wednesdays, and
Fridays. NES Management has
made it clear that only trash bins
and other items marked trash are
to be tossed out. We appreciate
your feedback and cooperation
during the transition, but we
expect to establish a long-lasting
relationship with New Island.
5. Eliminating the word
“just” can significantly
increase the chances of
a callback. The word
“just” connotes that
your matter is of lesser
importance and can be
ignored.
6. Research indicates
that for every 30
seconds your message
lasts, your response rate drops by 2%. Messages
between 15 and 25 seconds in length tend to yield a
callback. Keep it short and pithy.
HIGHLY ANTICIPATED iPAD3 TO BE RELEASED
On Wednesday, March 7th, Apple will once again host an unveiling event
for its new product line. The secretive nature of Apple’s reveals not only
creates industry-level marketing buzz, but simultaneously bolsters fan’s
excitement. Here are some of the more interesting tidbits of speculation
stemming from the chatter:
NEW FEATURES
Tech insiders are expecting the new iPad to
have unbelievably sharper graphics, a truly
powerful processor, and the 3G model to be
compatible with the speedy 4G LTE cellular
infrastructure.
PRICE POINT TO REMAIN UNCHANGED
The $499 entry-level price point has served Apple’s sales well through the
releases of the first two generations of iPads, so it is highly doubtful that
they will veer off this well-trodden path. This is particularly true in light
of the fact that there is increased competition in the tablet market from
vendors such as Kindle fire & Ebooks. However, used iPad2’s prices have
already plummeted in anticipation of the iPad3 launch.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
One thing Apple will never strive to be is predictable. Hence, it is highly
unlikely that the iPad3 will actually be called the iPad3. When naming
the iPhone4 and iPhone4S, Apple found it very difficult to explain to
consumers that the phone, despite its name, was not 4G platform
compatible. Possible names that are being discussed include: iPad2S,
iPad HD, and iPadAX5/AX6 (for the AX5 or AX6 chip).
