NOTIFICATION
RECRUITMENT IN THE DISTRICT JUDGE CADRE THROUGH LIMITED
COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION, 2015

On-line Applications are invited in the prescribed format from the
eligible Senior Civil Judges under Rule 32(4) of Rajasthan Judicial Service
Rules, 2010 (as amended) for recruitment by promotion on 29 posts in
the cadre of District Judge by Limited Competitive Examination to be
conducted by this Court.
The Senior Civil Judges, who have completed actual five years
service as on the 1st day of January, 2015 shall be eligible for appearing in
the Limited Competitive Examination for promotion to the cadre of
District Judge [As per Rule 32(3) of RJS Rules, 2010].
The candidates are advised to carefully read RJS Rules, 2010 (as
amended), instructions for filling On-line Application and Scheme &
Syllabus of Limited Competitive Examination for promotion to the District
Judge Cadre before filling On-line Application available on web-site of
Rajasthan High Court (http://www.hcraj.nic.in).
On-line Application can be filled-in one of the following modes :i.
Through e-Mitra Kiosks/Common Service Centres (CSC)
established and conducted under the Government of Rajasthan:
The candidate may get his/her on-line application filled-in through
e-Mitra Kiosk/CSC by paying service charges of Rs.25/-.
ii.
Through any other Agency (Cyber Cafe etc.) or by Self (having
adequate resources and internet facility): The candidates may
fill-in on-line application himself/herself through his/her own
computer with internet facility or any other Agency (Cyber Cafe
etc.).
Notes :
1. Candidate should take a print-out of blank format of On-line application
form available at the above mentioned website and fill it manually.
After ensuring that all the required information filled-in correctly, he
should start filling-in application on-line or submit to e-Mitra Kiosk/CSC
as the case may be, to avoid probability of any error.
2. Instructions regarding filling-in On-line Application are also available on
the official web-site of this Court.
3. The on-line application form, once submitted by clicking "Save" button,
shall not be open for any kind of change/amendment/editing. The
candidate shall be responsible for the consequences arising therefrom.
No application shall be entertained for any kind of change/amendment
in the entries of on-line application. The candidates are, therefore,

advised to ensure before clicking on the "Save" button that all the
information have been filled-in correctly in the relevant columns.
4. On-line applications shall only be accepted. No documents with hard
copy of application are required to be remitted personally or through
post by the eligible candidates to this Court.
5. List of eligible Senior Civil Judges is available on the official web-site of
Rajasthan High Court. Only Eligible Senior Civil Judges enlisted by this
Court can submit On-line Application.
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION AND SYLLABUS:
The scheme of the written examination for Limited Competitive
examination for promotion to the District Judge Cadre shall consist of (a)
a written examination in the subjects mentioned hereinafter, and (b) an
interview to test the general knowledge of the candidate and his fitness
for promotion to the Cadre.
The examination will be of the following subjects, each subject carrying

The paper in language shall consist of the following two parts:i. Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa
ii. Precis writing in English and in Hindi.
Candidates who have obtained cut off marks as fixed by the High
Court in the Limited Competitive Examination shall be eligible for
interview by a Committee consisting of Chief justice, Administrative Judge
and three other Judges nominated by the Chief Justice. The Committee
taking into consideration the performance at examination, the service
record and the performance at the interview shall assess the suitability
and recommend the names of the officers for promotion.
Provided, while considering the service record for assessing the
suitability to recommend the names of officers for promotion, it shall be
necessary for a candidate to obtain outstanding or very good entries
atleast for three years in the last preceding five years with no adverse
remarks.

Interview:
In interviewing a candidate, suitability for employment to the Judicial
Service in the Cadre of District Judge shall be tested with reference to his
record at the School, College and University, and his character,
personality, address and physique. Question which may be put to him
may be of a general nature and will not necessarily be academic or legal.
The candidate will also be put questions to test his general knowledge
including knowledge of current affairs and present day problems. The
marks so awarded shall be added to the marks obtained by each
candidate in the written test.
