All classes are run under British dressage rules.
Walk & Trot open to horses that have not won at Prelim. Any horses that have won points at Elementary or more than 49 BD points are not
eligible for Prelim classes, more than 124 BD points are not eligible for Novice classes, more than 199 points are not eligible for Elementary
classes; unless H/C.

Height of fences 70cm, horse & rider combination not to have won more than £50

INTERMEDIATE JUMPING (sect A = Show Jumping class, sect B = Combined Training)
Height of fences 80 cm, horse & rider combination not to have won more than £75
Class SJ 3
SMALL OPEN JUMPING(sect A = Show Jumping class, sect B = Combined Training)
Height of fences 90cm, horse & rider combination not to have won more than £100
Class SJ 4
OPEN JUMPING (sect A = Show Jumping class, sect B = Combined Training)
Height of fences 100cm, unrestricted
All classes will run as single phase (immediate jump off ) if large entries.

jumping classes above, (will be section B of that class and will NOT be against the clock.)
Class CT 2
BE 100 level
Dressage : BE Test 106 (2012) , Show Jumping – you choose which height class to jump - see show
jumping classes above, (will be section B of that class and will NOT be against the clock)
You cannot enter the same height class as you choose for the Combined Training for the Show Jumping competition .

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Your signature on the entry form shall be deemed as acceptance of these rules
2. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or amend classes in any way, and refuse any entries without
stating reasons.
3. In the event of cancellation of the show £2 per entry will be retained to cover admin costs.
4. Show Jumping Classes will be judged under BS rules, Dressage will judged under BD rules. The decision
of the judges will be final.
5. Objections must accompanied by a deposit of £20 and made in writing to the secretary of the show within
15 minutes of the incident. This deposit will only be refunded if the objection is successful.
6. ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR Correctly fitting hats conforming to EN1384, ASTM, PAS 015, SEI,
SNELL E2001 and carrying the BSI Kite mark must be worn at all times when mounted, Body protectors
are strongly recommended.
7. Please respect the property at Hickstead at all times. Do NOT ride or drive on the grass. Please dispose of
your rubbish in the bins provided and please do not skip our lorries/Trailers onto the park.
8. No horse/pony to be left unattended unless secured in lorry/trailer.
9. No horse or pony under the age of 4 years may compete, and only those competing in the show may be
ridden on the showground.
10. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and all waste should be disposed of sensibly.
11. Entrants who are not FULL members of HDRC are made associate members for the day of the show
only. The subscription for this is included in the entry fees. Membership is determined by the status of the
rider not the owner of the horse/pony.
Health & Safety:
Hickstead has taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these
measures to be effective everyone must take precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and obey
the instructions of the organisers and all other officials and stewards.
Legal Liability
The Organisers and Landowners shall not be liable for any claim for injury, loss or damage caused to or
suffered by any person, horse or pony or any other property in connection with or arising from any event at
Hickstead , however caused. Competitors are to satisfy themselves as to their own ability to ride safely and
indemnify the Organisers against any accident or loss however caused.
