HeronBridge tracksuit may be worn on cooler days
with short navy & beige stripe socks & black school
shoes).

HBC Policies and Procedures
PREPARATORY GENERAL
1. In wet weather conditions Dry Mac Jackets may be worn over the uniform.
2. Tracksuit top (Grade 1-6) may not be worn without a jersey.
3. Tracksuit pants do not form part of the prep academic uniform. The tracksuit pants will remain an
integral part of the co-curricular sports uniform.
4. Grade 1-6 children may wear the HeronBridge beanie with the winter uniform (only prior to school
starting).
5. Should a child lose his/her shoes, five school days grace will be granted. However, a note from
the parent is required.
Preparatory Girls
1. Hair must be neatly tied up as soon as it touches the collar.
2. Hair accessories must be champagne, navy, white, or HeronBridge College tartan accessories.
3. Hair may not be coloured, highlighted or gelled.
4. No make-up is to be worn.
5. Nails are to be no longer than the tips of the finger when the palm is turned outward.
6. A wristwatch may be worn.
7. Earrings: One pair only, to be worn in the lower earlobe. Plain silver or gold studs or sleepers.
8. The length of the school culottes or skirts needs to be 6 to 8 cm above the knee.
Preparatory Boys
1. Hair may not touch the collar or the ears and may not be coloured, highlighted or gelled.
2. No earrings or other jewellery (except wrist watches) may be worn.
3. Only lace-up black school shoes may be worn. No buckles or slip on shoes.

COLLEGE GENERAL
1. The blazer must be worn for all formal and representative occasions.
2. The v-neck sleeveless jersey and long sleeved jersey may be worn as an outer garment.
3. Tattoos are discouraged but if a pupil has one it must be covered by a plaster at all times whilst at
school and whilst representing the school.
College Girls
1. Hair must be neatly tied up as soon as it touches the collar.
2. Hair accessories must be plain black, navy, white, or HeronBridge College tartan accessories.
3. Grade 10 – 12 girls - Highlights may be two tones lighter or darker than your own hair.
4. No make- up is to be worn.
5. Nails are to be no longer than the tips of the finger when the palm is turned outward.
6. Only clear nail varnish or nude gel may be worn.
7. No jewellery other than a wristwatch or a medical bracelet may be worn.
8. Earrings: One pair only, to be worn in the lower earlobe. Plain silver or gold studs or sleepers, no
bigger than can fit around the little finger. No body piercing is allowed, e.g. eyebrow, tongue.
9. The length of the school skirt may not be shorter than eight fingers above the knee.
10. Appropriate undergarments should be worn.
College Boys
1. Hair may not touch the collar and may not be coloured, highlighted or gelled.
2. No outlandish hairstyles are allowed.
3. Sideburns may not be lower than mid ear.
4. Must be clean-shaven at all times.
5. No earrings or any other jewellery (except wrist watches or medical bracelets) may be worn
6. Only black lace-up or smart slip on shoes may be worn. No buckles.
