Airtel Double Data Offer – FAQs
1. I have received an airtel packet with the handset. What does it contain?
It contains the following things:
 An airtel 4G-ready 3-in-1 size SIM. You can use it for different SIM sizes like Nano,
Micro and Normal SIM cards. In order to use 4G services, the 4G-ready SIM is
necessary
 A leaflet which contains the simple steps to change your existing SIM to new
airtel 4G-ready SIM
2. Why do I need this this SIM?
 This is 4G enabled SIM. 4G services can be availed only through 4G
enabled SIM. If you already have 4G enabled SIM, you don’t need to
activate this SIM to get 4G services. Even if you do SWAP also, there is no
problem
3. I am a postpaid customer. Can I use this SIM for Prepaid only or it works for
postpaid too?
 It works on both prepaid and postpaid. Any customer can shift to 4G
through this SIM swap
4. What are the steps to change existing SIM to new airtel 4G SIM
 SMS SIM <20 digit SIM number> to 121 from your Airtel mobile
 Reply 1 to confirm your request
 Wait for the phone to get disconnected from the network. Then change
the SIM and switch it on to get connected again
 Non airtel customers to call toll free no. 18001035971 to know about how
they can change to 4G. They will answer all queries related 4G plans
5. Does 4G SIM compatible with 2G, 3G networks?
 Even for airtel non-4G areas, this SIM is compatible with 2G, 3G networks.
There is no problem if SIM swap to 4G compatible SIM is done
6. What will happen if 4G enabled person does SIM swap for some reason. Will
there be any issue?
 Customer can swap from one 4G SIM to another 4G SIM. There is no
problem here
7. I would like to avail double data which is configured for Huawei honor. How to
proceed?
 SIM swap needs to be done first if you are in 4G enabled cities by Airtel. If
you are already using 4G enabled SIM, you don’t need to do SIM swap.

After that activate the offer as per below steps mentioned in point no.s 13
& 15. 4G offer can’t be availed on 4G if they do not use 4G compatible
SIM. If offer is activated on other than 4G compatible SIM, offer will be
limited to 2 months at 3G speed
Customers who are from other than 4G enabled cities can get double
data offer for 2 months irrespective of switching to 4G compatible SIM. He
will get the offer in either cases, switching to 4G compatible SIM or not
switching to 4G compatible SIM
8. I did not get the SIM card with mobile?
 If the customer is in one of the below cities, please reach out to nearest
Airtel store with Flipkart invoice (No extra charges for this) or fill in your
details in this link. http://www.airtel.in/4g/#sim-swap and Airtel will deliver to
your place. For further details regarding the delivery timelines customer
can contact to 121
 Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam,
Mumbai
 (This list will be updated on regular basis. Flippkart/Airtel
team will give information on updated list)
 If the customer is not from the cities listed above, there is no additional
benefit for him by getting the Sim card. Because 4G compatible SIM is not
required for him. Once 4G starts in his city, he can directly get it from Airtel
stores by showing Flipkart invoice. Please contact 121 for further
information in this case. If there is any further escalation in this case,
please direct it to business
9. Where all does airtel have 4G network?
Airtel has 4G license in many circles and is rapidly enhancing their 4G services
across cities. However, to get the latest information of the available cities we
would request you to visit www.airtel.in/4G . Present cities are Bangalore,
Mumbai, Kolkata, Visakhapatanam, Hyderabad, Chennai
10. I have read about double data offer on my Huawei honor handset on Flipkart
website (or email from Flipkart), what is this offer?
Airtel is providing double data offer on 4G for 2 months in 4G cities. In non-4G markets
also, airtel is providing double data offer on 3G for 2 months. This offer is available to
both prepaid and postpaid customers by OPT-IN process. If you are a prepaid
customer, you can activate the offer and then enjoy double data benefit from your
next recharge. If you are a postpaid customer, you can subscribe to data pack and
then activate the offer. From the backend, your data pack will be converted to double
data benefit.
For example, if you recharge or subscribe to 1GB 3G data per month, you will
additionally get 1GB data. In 4G cities, you can get this for 2 recharges or 2 months
(whichever is earlier) and the extra data is available on 4G. In rest of India, the offer is
applicable for 2 recharges or 2 months (whichever is earlier) and the extra data is
available on 3G.
11. Is this available to all prepaid recharges?
This is available on select but popular 3G Data Recharges present in the market.

12. What is the process to activate this offer for prepaid customers?
Prepaid customer: The process to activate the offer is very simple.



Step 1: You will need to first OPT-IN for the offer on the URL
www.airtellive.com/offers from your Huawei honor handset using airtel mobile
internet.
NOTE: Please note that the offer will not work if you are connected to Wi-Fi or
using a proxy browsers like Opera, UC browser, or if you are using the “Incognito
mode” in browser
Step 2: Once activation is successful, you will then get double the data in your
next 2 data recharges in 2 months
Step 3: The extra benefit will be credited in a separate account. To check your
data balance you can dial *129*08#
13. How do I check whether I have received the Double Data offer?c
Prepaid customers can check the data balance using *129*08#. This will show
the balance in all of your data accounts. The double data benefit and market
recharge benefit will be shown in separate accounts.
Postpaid customers will receive the confirmation (or regret) SMS within 48 hours of
your request time. In case you require more assistance, please call the airtel
contact center 121 as they can also check in their systems.
14. What is the process to activate this offer for postpaid customers?
The process to activate the offer is very simple.



Step 1: This offer is available on the select data boosters or packs. You will need
to subscribe to these BEFORE you can claim the Double Data offer. If you are
already subscribed to one of these, please move to step 2.
Step 2: OPT-IN / Register for the Double data offer on the URL
www.airtellive.com/offers from your Huawei honor handset using airtel mobile
internet. Please note that the offer will not work if you are connected to Wi-Fi or
using a proxy browsers like Opera, UC browser, or if you are using the “Incognito
mode” in browser
Step 3: The webpage will show “Request Received”. Within 48 hours of the
request, from the back end airtel will replace your regular data pack with special
Double Data offer data pack for 2 months. Non eligible cases will be sent regret
SMS.
15. Is this available on all data packs for postpaid customers?
This offer is available on select but popular market data packs. This is also known as
data boosters for airtel myPlan postpaid customers. Currently, this offer is NOT available
on postpaid corporate connections or if you are using a Combo plan which has in-built
Data + minutes + SMS. Please call 121 for more details
16. Customer – Are there any terms and conditions of this offer?
You can visit the terms and conditions on airtel website www.airtel.in/handsetoffers. Same will also be visible to you when you visit the activation URL from your
mobile handset.
 This offer is not available on postpaid company paid connections or if you
are using a Combo plan which has in-built Data + minutes + SMS
 Offer once activated cannot be reversed or re-claimed
 In 4G offer, the extra data can be used only on 4G
 For 4G data packs of Rs. 250 & Rs. 450, the bill shield is of Rs. 1000 and post
free quota, the charges will be Rs. 0.4 per MB
 For 3G data packs of Rs. 250 and Rs. 450, the bill shield is of Rs. 1000 and
post free quota, the charges will be Rs. 4p/10KB
 Post offer period, the data plan will be migrated back to the open market
plan of same or nearest rental applicable at that time
 Offer valid till 30th June 2015
17. Customer – I have not received the offer, what do I do?
We would request you to call the airtel contact center 121 regarding the same
as they have the systems for troubleshooting
