Skills for Physical Activity
By the end of Year 1, through regular and active participation in physical activity, students
are able to demonstrate a range of fundamental movement skills in structured and creative
play environments. These include:
• Body

Skills for Physical Activity
By the end of Year 3, through regular and active participation in physical activity, students
are able to demonstrate a wide range of fundamental movement skills in structured play and
skill development environments. These include:
• Body
management skills and spatial awareness with controlled movements in isolation
and/or with equipment.
• Locomotor skills that comprise controlled combinations of speed, shape and direction.
• Object control skills whilst stationary and moving, including the use of targets.
Students apply simple combinations of locomotor, body management and object control skills. They
follow instructions and routines in physical activity and simple games.
