Dear Parishioners,
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!....to all who helped to make
our Holy Infant St. Patrick’s Day celebration such a grand
success! We were blessed with a beautiful day last Sunday and
a fantastic response from so many in our parish family. What a
festive and memorable day! It was great to see so many
parishioners gather together to enjoy great food and drink, a lively
auction, games, Irish dancing and festivities throughout the day.
Special thanks to Matt and Cathy Hazlip for their extraordinary
leadership in serving as chairpersons of this huge annual parish
event.
Congratulations to our St. Patrick’s Day Raffle Winners! In the
Grand Raffle, the winners are: Grand Prize: Mike Meyer; 2nd
Prize: Mary Fears; and 3rd Prize: Diane Fanning. In our Day
School Tuition Raffle, the winners are: 1st Prize: Mike Ulman;
2nd Prize: Emily Bainter; and 3rd Prize: Vicky Herring.
Congratulations to our Super Raffle Winner: Dave Denzer. Your
support of this annual St. Patrick’s Day event is very much
appreciated!
We are now past the half-way mark of Lent. Some of us who
have made resolves around prayer, fasting and almsgiving have
either not started or have abandoned them. Well, it is never too
late to begin—at least with God; nor is it wrong to take up where
we may have left off—God is always delighted with whatever
moves towards Him we make. We don't embrace these
disciplines to be noticed or to earn our salvation but to bring
about a change of heart in us. The whole purpose of Lent is to
help us come to the celebration of Easter ready to renew our own
baptismal promises. If we have made the season of Lent a time
for repentance, how much more authentic our celebration of the
Lord's passion, death and resurrection will be. God never fails to
show Himself to those who seek Him with a sincere heart.
And speaking of repentance, we have special times this Lent for
all who are interested in celebrating the Sacrament of
Reconciliation. Every Monday night beginning at 8:00 p.m. in
church, priests are available for confession. Every Saturday
beginning at 3:30 in the afternoon, you may also celebrate the
Sacrament of Reconciliation. We have several confessors
available so hopefully there will be little wait time. Next Sunday,
we will celebrate Palm Sunday.
God’s blessings for a meaningful Lent!

Hail Mary
Why does the Church honor Mary? She is the Mother of
God and the Mother of the Church. “The faithful see in
Mary an image and an anticipation of the resurrection
that awaits them and they invoke her as advocate,
helper, benefactress and mediatrix” (Compendium 197).
Much of the text of the Hail Mary is taken from the Gospel
of Luke.

On March 25 we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of
Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life), the founda onal
document for Catholic pro-life efforts. Wri en in 1995 by
St. John Paul II, the encyclical addresses threats to
human life through the light of the Catholic faith. It is a
“precise and vigorous reaffirma on of the value of
human life and its inviolability, and at the same me a
pressing appeal to each and every person to respect,
protect, love, and serve life.” If you have not read
Evangelium Vitae, we encourage you to take me to
read and pray on this encyclical. It can be accessed at

What is Jonah Prayer Ministry?
It is a ministry of prayer for and with others, based at the
parish level. Praying with others helps to affirm our faith
as a community; it opens the door for healing through the
Holy Spirit and helps us experience joy through difficulty,
perseverance and gratitude in all circumstances that life
brings.
Jonah Prayer ministers are ordinary people who are
approved by the pastor for this ministry. Those who serve
have a calling to pray for others and to use their gifts
given by the Holy Spirit. It is a ministry through which all
can recognize the power of the Holy Spirit working in the
lives of a parish community.
For those interested in joining the Jonah Ministry, there
will be a training session on Saturday, April 18 at the
Rigali Center from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Ebo Room.
Contact Marty Scrima at (636) 891-9744 to obtain an
application.
Jesus commanded us to pray for vocations with his
words, “Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest to send
out laborers into his harvest? (Mt. 9:38). Take on prayer
for vocations as your personal effort to increase the
number of priests, sisters, brothers, and lay ministers.
