Become part of the Living Rosary! To participate,
an individual or family is asked to pray one decade
of the Holy Rosary daily. This can be done anytime,
anywhere. The same decade is prayed for one
month, then the following decade for the next
month, and so on until all 20 decades are prayed. Please call Mary Jo
Wittstruck at the Parish Office, 996-7424, for more information.
Ever consider being a Cantor at Church? We are
looking for those men and women who are willing to share
their musical gift from God by leading the congregation in
song during the weekend Masses. We are especially in
need of cantors for the 5:30pm Saturday Mass and the
11:00am Sunday Mass. You can start out by singing
with an experienced cantor before going it alone.
Want to give it a try? Stop and talk to Jim Wagner (Holy Spirit’s
Music Director) after a weekend Mass or call Merrillee at the
Parish office for more information, 996-7424.
The Mitchell Area Right to Life will be having a
meeting on May 20 at 6:30pm at the Sisters of
St Francis of Our Lady of Guadalupe Convent,
1417 West Ash Avenue, Mitchell. A tour of their home begins
promptly at 6:30pm with the meeting to follow in their library.
Refreshments will be served. Contact 990-3828 with questions.

John Paul II School News
Robin Cahoy, Principal — 996-2365
The weeks and months go by so quickly.
It’s hard to believe we are entering the final
week of school for the 2014-15 school year.
What a great year it has been! I thank the parents, teachers, staff,
priests, students, PTO officers, and Education Committee for their
part in making John Paul II such a wonderful school where faith
and academics meet.
Our fourth graders will continue to learn about SD History with
their trip to DeSmet on May 18. They will visit Laura Ingalls
Wilder sites. Thanks to Mrs. Kline and Mrs. Heisinger for
planning this trip for the students.
Our final week begins with our Preschool Graduation on
Monday, May 18, for all preschool students that will be moving on
to Kindergarten. The graduation will begin at 5:45pm in Holy
Spirit Church. What a special night for them!
On Thursday, May 21, at 6:00pm our Sixth Grade Class will
have their Graduation Mass at Holy Spirit Church. There will be a
banquet following in the Holy Spirit Parish Hall. We will
certainly miss this special group of students and wish them well as
they move to the Middle School. Our school is very proud of
these students and knows they will excel as they move on to their
new level of academics. Congratulations sixth graders! You will
be missed!
I would like to send our congratulations to the John Paul II
PTO Scholarship recipient, Julie Knight, and to Tyler Larson
who is the recipient of the Marilyn Peschong Scholarship
that is awarded through the MFCE. Both Julie and
Tyler will receive a $500 scholarship to help with
their preparation for college. Congratulation Julie & Tyler!!

Stewardship Reflection: Jesus is the perfect steward—watching
carefully over all who had been entrusted to Him by the Father
and then sending them all out into the world in service. May I
similarly protect and wisely use the gifts entrusted to me!
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar: Jesus was
worried about his disciples, and He turned to prayer.
No matter how much time we spent trying to “guard
and protect” our children, each day they become less
dependent on us; and we must let go and let God.
Prayer and parenting go together.
Happy Birthday Wishes go out to Devona Nolz
who celebrates her 80th birthday on May 18.
May God bless you with more happy times!
