It’s hard to believe we are entering the final week of school for the 2014-15 school year. What a great year it has been! I thank the parents, teachers, staff, priests, students, PTO officers, and Education Committee for their part in making John Paul II such a wonderful school where faith and academics meet. Our fourth graders will continue to learn about SD History with their trip to DeSmet on May 18. They will visit Laura Ingalls Wilder sites. Thanks to Mrs. Kline and Mrs. Heisinger for planning this trip for the students. Our final week begins with our Preschool Graduation on Monday, May 18, for all preschool students that will be moving on to Kindergarten. The graduation will begin at 5:45pm in Holy Spirit Church. What a special night for them! On Thursday, May 21, at 6:00pm our Sixth Grade Class will have their Graduation Mass at Holy Spirit Church. There will be a banquet following in the Holy Spirit Parish Hall. We will certainly miss this special group of students and wish them well as they move to the Middle School. May I similarly protect and wisely use the gifts entrusted to me! A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar: Jesus was worried about his disciples, and He turned to prayer. No matter how much time we spent trying to “guard and protect” our children, each day they become less dependent on us; and we must let go and let God. Prayer and parenting go together.
