At Saturday the 6th of June, we will have a new outdoor experience for
you! Our Workshop takes place in the Sintra Mountains, where APP
Mountainboard prepared some nice tracks in a beautiful landscape. This
activity is for beginners or experienced people. We have nice coaches and
they will show us the first steps and everything about the board. Later we
are going to do the Downhill-Track and start races. Additionally you can
learn something about slacklining in an extra activity.
About the sport
Mountainboarding is an extreme sport, which connects the Skates and
Snowboard. It appeared in the United States in the early 90s as an
alternative for snowboarding (out of the season), but unfortunately it is
still unknown. The equipment consists of a board of about 120 cm, wide
axles with steering springs, tires calibrated and fasteners for the feet.

About APP Mountainboard Sintra
APPMountainboard – Associação Portuguesa de Praticantes Mountainboard
was founded in 2010 by a group of practitioners and friends of Mountain board.
Since then, the organization located in Sintra has been looking to promote the
modality to new people, following the values of safety and respect for the
environment.
About Rota Jovem
Rota Jovem is a non-profit Youth Association based in Cascais, which promotes
and supports activities for young people. Founded in 1992, presently it counts
with more than 1500 members, mostly youngsters from 16 to 30 years old. Rota
Jovem's activities and projects are open to its members and also to young people
from the community in general and they take place at a local, national and
international level.
