GENERAL CLARIFICATION ON SYLLABUS
It is publicised for the benefit of the aspiring candidates for the examination
being conducted by the HP State Pollution Control Board related to the
syllabus of the examination for different categories of the posts the questions
are likely to be related to the core subjects of study corresponding to the
prescribed educational qualification besides the areas relevant to the
pollution assessment and control as mentioned in the Advertisement for
each category of the post.
Candidates may also be asked questions related to general awareness on
environmental issues, comprehension, quantitative aptitude and current
affairs etc. Questions are likely to be objective type with multiple choice
answers to be answered on OMR sheet.
Instructions related to filling up the responses in the answer sheet have also
been separately uploaded on the web-site of the State Board and candidates
are advised to see these instructions.
Candidates should also know that 85% weightage shall be given for the
performance of candidates in the written examination and 15% weightage
shall be given for performance in personal interview. Final merit shall be
determined according to this criteria.

INSTRUCTIONS TO FILL THE RESPONSES IN THE ANSWER/RESPONSE
SHEET BY CANDIDATES.

Candidate must write his/her name in BLOCK letters in the box provided in the top of the answer
sheet using BLACK BALL POINT PEN only, for example

Candidate must write his/her roll number in the box printed on the top.
Candidate must write date of test and centre of examination/test on the boxes provided on the
top.
No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall till the examination is over.
Candidate must put his signatures in the box provided in the answer/response sheet.
Do not write anything in the box provided for invigilator signatures.
Each answer sheet must be signed by the invigilator in the space printed in the response/answer
sheet.

10. Only one response to be selected & marked. In case no response is marked for a question, no marks
will be given for that question.
11. While marking the answer in the answer sheet candidate should darken the circle corresponding to
the choice in full with black ball pen only and no part of the circle should be left unfilled.
12. Erasing or changing of answer is not allowed.
13. Do not use HB pencil or Gel Ball Pen. Only black ball point pen must be used for marking responses.
14. Rough work not be done on the answer sheet.
15. There will be negative marking for wrong answers or more than one answer for same question , and
half marks shall be deducted in such case. No negative marking will be there for questions left
unfilled.
16. Candidates shall mark answer/responses only on the answer sheet given to the candidate in the
examination hall. Responses marked on the test booklet or any paper other than the answer sheet
shall not be examined for which the candidate himself/herself will be responsible.
17. Do not fold answer/response sheets or file or tag or pin-up or stapple them.
