MATCH REPORTS
8 KING v FALCONS
WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!
A WHOA! for each girl. What a game. Every player from the Heathcote Waratahs 8 King’s did their parents, their manager,
their club and most importantly themselves proud.
We came up against a team that beat us quiet convincingly in the first round. There was no repeat of that on Saturday.
Our girls were everywhere in defence with everyone getting an intercept or a deflection at some stage of the game. Our
girls even powered through injuries with the odd bit of skin being scrapped off.
We were clearly the best team for the first 3 quarters but those elusive goals just didn’t come. Keep trying hard and I’m
sure they will.
Jess, Skye, Sienna and Mackenzie were brilliant stopping every attacking movement from the opposition.
Then our mid-courters must have been listening at training over the past few weeks as they were finally moving to space
and were able to turn defence into attack. Charlotte, Brianna and Tahlia were fabulous finding space.
Eve and Lola were energetic in attack running around looking for space and searching for that goal.
Maybe we need to pray for rain every week so we can play at the Ridge because both of games there this season have
been our best games by far.
Thanks to Keira for umpiring us. It is very much appreciated.
Good luck next Saturday.

v EAGLES
SCORE: WON 16 - 11
Congratulations to our amazing team who won this week 16-11. It was so exciting to see your hard work on the court be
replicated in the score. You thoroughly deserved your victory girls.
It was great to see the girls putting suggestions in place on the court. Our no stepping rule is continually improving and our
passing down the court was much better this week. We will continue to work on taking penalties quicker and listening to
the umpire’s calls. Your coach promises to be quieter on the sideline too so this can improve.
Kelsey, Teagan and Olivia worked beautifully in the goal circle as the girls are really getting use to each other and the quick
passes in were definitely working this week. Congratulations to the 3 of you for your lovely shooting.
Teagan moved into defense in the 2nd half of the game with Erin and Charlie. Again the 3 of you worked tirelessly in
defense getting many intercepts. We will work on defending the shot quicker and jumping for rebounds next week.
Katina, Cheyenne, Airlie and Ellie all positioned themselves well in centre court. It was beautiful to watch how the ball
flowed down the court this week due to your incredible passes – well done girls.
Our trophy this week went to Kelsey and our McDonald’s award went to Ellie – congratulations girls on a terrific game.
I’m looking forward to watching another strong game next week. Keep up the great efforts girls!
