MATCH REPORTS
8 KING
v THISTLES
Our second game saw us up against another competitive team. Through solid defence, we restricted them to 6 goals at half
time. Then the half time talk must have been a ripper as we came out firing in the second half. So much so the scores were
2 all in the second half. A great effort. Skye scored both goals from brilliant attacking flair from the mid field.
In a week, we have doubled our score so this means we are only 2 games away from a double figure score. Go girls!!
Training resumes on Friday 10th April at 3:45pm (if available) but our next game is Saturday 18th April at 9:20am on Court 5.
Congratulations to Lola for playing her very first game of Netball.

v SHARKS
SCORE: WON 13 - 2
A very big congratulations to my 9 super stars. What a win 13-2. I can tell that every game this season is going to be super
exciting watching these girls play.
I want to congratulate all the girls for their amazing team work. They are supporting each other all over the court in both
attack and defence, listening to advice beautifully and giving 100% during the games and at training. It has only been a few
weeks but every girl is going from strength to strength. We are working on our no stepping rule and continually moving onto
the ball before the other team intercepts it, which is improving all the time.
It was difficult going back to the slippery grass this week due to the power line problem at Bellingara but the girls didn’t let it
phase them.
Charlie, Ellie and Erin worked beautifully in defence again, intercepting passes and defending the shot well. They are
working on jumping for those rebounds. Airlie worked tirelessly in both WA and WD, intercepting passes and also working
well in attack, getting the ball into our goal circle. Teagan, Kelsey, Olivia and Cheyenne all shared our shooting positions.
I’m very impressed with how all these girls moved the ball around the goal circle and used their C and WA when they
needed to get it closer to the post. Finally an amazing effort by Katina in WD and C, who constantly found space on the
court and passed beautifully to her attack players.
Player of the match trophy- Ellie
McDonald’s award- Charlie
Well done to all our girls and I wish everyone a very happy and relaxing Easter!

v CRONULLA RSL
SCORE: WON 4 - 2
What a great start for our team. This was the first game of the year, most of the girls had never even played a full ‘real’
game of netball before.
We would especially like to thanks Charlotte Carroll-Gielis for coming to play for us today & missing her own teams’ game.
We only have 7 players, and we had Emma off sick.
Most of our girls played two different positions today as we are still trying to identify our best playing team and where their
individual talents lie. All the girls gave 100% and listened to my advice and took it on board.
We are grateful to all the other Heathcote players and supporters to dropped by to offer support and encouragement to our
girls.

Congratulation girls, I am so proud of you all – U10C (Champions!)

12AR v MAGPIES
SCORE: WON 25 - 10
Wow!!!! I really don’t know what to say!!! This game was so physical - I’m trying to be nice 
Today was very difficult for me as a coach.
It was difficult to see Emma be contacted 17 times and hit the ground so hard that she cried and see pictures of Zali’s
bruised leg…. :-(
As I said on Saturday, don’t get into rough play and don’t retaliate…..stay controlled and win on the score board, which is
exactly what you did. I was proud of the way that you came out after half time and just played netball.
You all played really hard today and moved the ball down the court beautifully. Every one of you did something today that
you should be proud of.
Jess J - a two handed intercept and getting the ball away safely not only on the baseline throw ins but all over the defence
end…well done!
Zali - reading the play well and getting lots of beautiful CLEAN intercepts
 fantastic game!
Briana - adjusting your game after the first quarter (keeping your arm down), knowing exactly where to go on baseline
throw ins and getting some great intercepts…good stuff!
Jessie - worked so so hard in attack and defence and intercepts all over the court…a great game at centre!
Jo at wing attack….some lovely feeds into the circle and also an intercept (hope your not stiff any more
improved so much 
) you have
Emma - you had a great game in attack against defences that need to work on their body control…what I liked is that you
never gave up and toughed it out…proud of you today Em!!!
B at goal shooter…. we all saw the B that we know in the last quarter when you came out and shot 5 goals straight with no
misses…good girl!
Akala - for a defence player, you play a great wing attack….you fed the circle well and also got intercepts …great work!
Girls, you all showed your class in the last quarter which you won 7-1……it was great to see you finish strongly.
The Macca’s awards went to Zali and Emma today….well done!!!
Remember girls it’s the score board that counts
Happy Easter…..Kaz x
 Have a great holiday and see you on the 17th of April.

13AR v FLAMES
SCORE: WON 44 - 16
What a game girls - I was so proud of you. It was a pleasure to watch some fine netball today. You all need a special
award for being the only game I know that both teams scored the EXACT same score each 1/4 (11 - 4).
DEFENSE: Gabby and Caitlin you were amazing in the circle. The way you both rattled the oppositions shooters was
fantastic. You should be super proud. Jess you did an awesome job as WD helping out Caitlin and getting some amazing
intercepts.
ATTACK: What can I say, you all worked amazing together. Rachel and the Jades fed the circle outstanding and Casey
and Alex - not sure what you did before todays’ game... BUT continue to do this weekly haha you both shot some lovely
goals. And Casey you held yourself well with some very pushy defense.
We just need to practice coming to the ball and not too many lobs.
Have a very happy Easter girls and enjoy your school holidays See you second week of holidays for training :)
Bel - coach
14B1 v MAGPIES
SCORE: WON 36 - 28
Well what can I say !!!! The score does not reflect the game (literally !!!!!) We all know that we won by 11……
Today was not the best we have played but we definitely deserved the win. We are a much better skilled team than
Magpies all over the court.
We showed patches of how well we can play today….but it’s really obvious that the 8am games do not agree with
us…..thank god we don’t play at 8am every week!!!!
Millie had a great game at goal defence and got both the MVP voted by Magpies and also got the Macca’s award today.
Justine, sorry that you had to put up with everything that happened today and thank you for scoring. Hopefully next round
will be more enjoyable 
Have a great holiday girls and see you for training on the 17th of April at 2.15pm.
Cheers Kaz x
