IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
2015 SEASON KICK OFF
It was great to see our new players (and our returning players) enjoying their
first game of the 2015 season.
They say it’s not all about winning but all our junior teams had a win (or a draw)
last week - that’s a prey awesome start.
There also seemed to be a lot of fun had during the 8’s and 9’s games last week
too.

MATCH REPORTS
8 KING
v FALCONS
The first game of the season was a learning curve for all players. We played against a team that looked like they had
played together before. Whilst the opposition’s height and experience worked against us, every one of our girls tried hard
all game. Our effort was fantastic and we never gave up. The first goal of this season was scored by Tahlia which was
very exciting for all girls and spectators.
Congratulations to Charlotte, Eve and Brianna for having played their very first game of netball.
Thanks to all the parents and grandparents for coming to support.
See you all at training on Friday.
Next week we are on Court 6 at 8am.

SCORE: DRAW 9 - 9
Wow – what a start to the season! This amazing team has just started their first season at Bellingara and what a start it
was. They were graded in A res on grading day and showed today that they thoroughly deserve to be in this grade.
Nine very talented girls played in numerous positions today as we are still working on which position their true talents lie.
But after a game like today, it has made my job as coach even harder as many of the girls can play in any position.
Kelsey, Olivia, Cheyenne, Airlie and Katina played beautifully in the attack end. These girls easily rotated around our
shooting, centre and WA positions. The girls created amazing quick passes down the court and moved around the goal
circle the best they have ever done. Goals were scored which made us all very proud.
Erin, Ellie and Charlie were amazing in defence. Intercepts and touches to the ball were constant. These girls stopped
many goals from being scored and moved the ball beautifully up the court. They worked tirelessly – well done girls!
AND introducing Teagan who played GS and GK equally as well today. This amazing new player to our team showed
incredible talents at both ends of the court. We are lucky to have such a skillful new player in both attack and defence.
Welcome to our team - we hope you enjoy playing with us.
Thank you to the girls for listening to lots of new advice today as we are at a new level of netball. Every girl took our
manager, Kylie and my advice on board to improve their own game and it showed with every minute of the game. The
umpires were hard with the no stepping rule today which was beneficial for all our players because the improvement
throughout the game was very noticeable.
Congratulations to you all girls – our U/10 shining stars.
Player of the match trophy – Katina
McDonalds award - Erin
A big thank you to Kylie, our manager, for all her hard work to start the season and for always being a great support for me.
Can’t wait till next week girls!

12AR v ENGADINE EAGLES
SCORE: WON 30 - 19
First game of the year and we get an 8 m game !!! That was the only bad news for the day.
Firstly, I would like to welcome both Briana and Jess to our team…I hope you enjoy being a part of our team ☺
For the first game of the season, I was very impressed with the way we played today. You all looked like you wanted the
win and you drove hard onto the ball and chased all the loose balls down. The timing down the court was good as were
most of our passes.
From the defence end of Akala and Zali who did an awesome job in the goal circle against all the shooters but in particular
against the goal shooter who was as tall as me and at least 12 inches bigger than both of you….amazing job to keep her to
10 goals in a whole game…well done !!!!
To Brianna who was nervous at the start at wing defence but after the first 5 minutes you would not have known that you
were the same girl. You listened to everything I told you and you got some great intercepts… you looked like you have been
part of the team for years….as I said on Saturday well done and you were the most improved of the day ☺
Jess who was also nervous came on at half time into wing defence and also did a great job getting intercepts and hands to
lots of balls. Well done Jess!!!
Now to Jessie at centre…Wow!!! You were great in both attack and defence getting lots of intercepts all over the court and
putting in some great feeds to the shooters. I love your determination Jessie and I think you had a fantastic game today.
Jo at her first whole game at wing attack played really well and like Brianna got better and better as the game went on. I
could see your confidence grow as the game went on and with that came some beautiful feeds into the circle….well done ☺
Now to the shooters, Emma and Bianca you both played wonderful netball today and combined beautifully in the circle
together. You were both really strong and that showed because Eagles kept changing the defences every quarter.
Today we worked as a team all the way down the court both in attack and in defence and that is the reason we won.
This was a great game for the first of the season.
The awards today went to Emma who was voted by the other team as our MVP and to Jessie and Akala who got the
Macca’s awards…well done to you all you deserve these awards….Karin.

SCORE: WON 35 - 18
Firstly, welcome back to our team Millie…it’s lovely to have you back and great to see you enjoy your netball.
Now before I forget Happy Birthday to Jess and Bronte for last Wednesday and to Millie for today (Tuesday) ☺
So on to the game…. Well done on a great game of netball today girls. Today you all played as a team both in attack and
defence and it was great to watch.
Our defences of Millie and Hayley did a great job in the circle and Jade got lots of intercepts at wing defence (loved the
flying through the air Jade). Jess at centre worked so hard all the way up and down the court and for someone that hasn’t
really played centre for the last two years did a brilliant job at feeding the circle…well done Jess. Charli had a great game at
wing attack and also put some really clever balls into the shooters (loved the intercepts Charli). Both Bronte and Emily
combined beautifully in the circle and shot really well today… all in all girls, a great first game and really nice to get a win !!!
It was really hard to pick the Macca’s award today because you all played so well but Kel made me pick it and in the end
there was one person who stood out so the award today went to Jess for a brilliant game at centre….well done!!! Kaz
