Updated David Mitchell - 12 May 2015 TRIM ID 2014/25327#02-079 Windows Security patching and mandatory restarts The Microsoft Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) is a tool for managing and distributing critical security patches to all Windows computers joined to our Active Directory (AD) infrastructure. UNSW Canberra ICTS enforces the installation of critical security updates via WSUS to all Windows computers registered in AD. The updates will be applied on the second Friday of every month at 2am. To ensure the updates have been successfully applied, each computer will automatically restart at the completion of the patching process. Enforcing a patch management policy is a key component in protecting your data and ensuring our desktop operating environment stays secure and up-to-date.
