Dear IHM Community,
“I am the good shepherd...and I lay down my life for the sheep…and they will heed my voice.” John 10:14-16
Thank you for your continued
support of IHM.
When you pray, do you only ask Jesus for things that you want? Do you ever ask Jesus
what He wants you to do? How do you listen for the response? The answer is usually in
“quiet whispers”. Take time in silent, daily prayer to hear His answer.

Sunday Family Faith Last Class!
Sunday, April 26 is the last class day for our
students. Remember to meet in the gym for
class. There are many things that need wrapping
up! A big shout out to the second graders for making
their First Holy Communion; a presentation by the
4th/5th grade class; and a huge celebration for the
graduating 8th grade with a volleyball game, food and
gifts. We are expecting you to show your faith and
support by your presence. Look for the sign up sheet
for food and if you want to acknowledge your 8th
grader with a token of appreciation, you are more
than welcome to do so.
Gratitude for Catechists!
Thank you to all our catechists who DONATE their
time to teach children our faith. Like you, they are
frightened and humbled by the task, and yet week
after week they give of themselves, spending time
preparing for class and receiving every single student
with love and joy. You are deeply appreciated! Thank you! To Linda Eicholtz, Elizabeth Murphy, Janie Gleaves, Kim Falcon, Heather Harrell,

From the Diocese
Catholic Home Missions Collection
Many dioceses right here in the United States do not have
enough priests and trained lay ministers to serve their parishes.
These dioceses are known as home missions. The Catholic
Home Missions Appeal will take place this weekend with the
regular collection, and supports these dioceses by funding essential ministries, including seminary training and lay ministry training. Please be generous in this appeal. Envelopes are in the Central Ave and Archway entrances.
Catholic Charities News
The five Indiana bishops have issued a pastoral letter on poverty. The overall goal is to bring awareness to the suffering that
is experienced by our fellow Hoosiers and motivate us all to take
further responsibility for helping to relieve some of this suffering. Please take the time to read the letter and to respond to the
survey that will be used to develop a pastoral plan to reduce
poverty in Indiana - www.archindy.org/cc

Saving Energy in Sacred Spaces
Archbishop Tobin recently spoke about our responsibility to be
stewards of creation. One practical way to do this is to examine
how much energy is used in our parish and school buildings. But the unique architecture of houses of worship poses a
real challenge when it comes to identifying energy leaks. To find
out how your parish can save energy and save money, come to
the “Saving Energy in Sacred Spaces” workshop to be held
this Sunday, April 26 from 2:00 to 3:30 at Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic Church, 5333 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Register for this FREE workshop by sending an email
to [email protected]. Although everyone is invited,
this workshop is especially appropriate for facilities managers
and Buildings and Grounds committee members.
