WINDASPES: Workshop on INformation Driven Applications for Smart Power and Energy Systems IISA Conference Date: July 6-8, 2015 Workshop Date and Time: TBA by IISA 2015 committee Location: Corfu, Greece Venue: Ionian University Worksop Activities: Paper Keynote Submission Deadline: Speakers May 14, Papers 2015 Technical (maximum 6 pages) IISA Online Submission: http://iisa2015.unipi.gr <Use IISA2015 Template> NOTIFICATION of Rejection/Acceptance: by May 20, 2015 Best Papers will be invited in a special issue of the International Journal of Monitoring and Surveillance Technologies Research published by IGI Global Background: The complexity of physical power and energy systems (conventional and nuclear) makes their management a difficult task often requiring solutions that are cost ineffective and time consuming. However, the integration of technological advances in computing and control methods with power and energy systems has led to new cyber-physical systems. These cyber-physical systems exhibit a degree of smartness by equipping them with data processing capabilities. Information utilized may include anything from historical or predicted data, system state estimates, fault detections etc. Applications of information tools taken from various areas, such as, but not limited to artificial intelligence, control and signal processing find wide use in power and energy systems, and thus contributing in their autonomous and efficient operation. Topics of interest for the WINDASPES include, but not limited to information data driven and information tools for: Smart Grids / Smart Energy Systems Power system management and control State Prediction and Fault detection Intelligent meters/ Intelligent sensors Energy planning and scheduling Load/price forecasting Nuclear System Controls Nuclear Process Monitoring Health Management (Energy/Nuclear) Big Data Methods Signal Processing Artificial Intelligence Applications Cyber-Physical Energy Systems Computational Methods for Energy Workshop Chairs Lefteri Tsoukalas, Purdue University, USA ([email protected]) Miltos Alamaniotis, Purdue University, USA ([email protected]) Technical Program Committee Vivek Agarwal, Idaho National Laboratory, USA Dimitrios Bargiotas, TEI Stereas Elladas, Greece Nikolaos Bourbakis, Wright State University, USA Mauro Cappelli, ENEA, Italy Stylianos Chatzidakis, Purdue University, USA Alex Chroneos, Coventry University, UK Konstantis Daloukas, Helic, Greece Nikolaos Gatsis, University of Texas at San Antonio, USA Andrei Gribok, Idaho National Laboratory, and University of Tennessee, USA Nikiforos Fainti, University of Thessaly, Greece Thanasis Fevgas, University of Thessaly, Greece Giovanni Magrotti, University of Pavia, Italy Antonia Nasiakou University of Thessaly, Greece Yota Tsompanopoulou, University of Thessaly, Greece
