Family violence is everybody’s business. In the spirit of
Reconciliation four remarkable women speak about how
family violence impacts all women and the wider community.
Ms Rosie Batty was awarded Australian of the Year in 2015.
Since the tragic death of her son Rosie has tirelessly campaigned
against domestic violence.
Ms Dixie Link-Gordon is a Gurang Gurang woman from
South East Queensland. Dixie has worked supporting
Aboriginal women victims of violence and abuse for more than
27 years.
Justice Hilary Hannam was a magistrate in the Local Court of
NSW from 2000 until August 2010 when she was appointed
as the Chief Magistrate of the Northern Territory. In 2013 Her
Honour was appointed to the Family Court of Australia.
Ms Cheryl Orr is a Gurang Gurang woman. Cheryl lives
and practices in Sydney and Mt Druitt as a specialist in Child
& Protection matters. She is the Indigenous Legal Professional
of the Year 2014, awarded by the Commonwealth AttorneyGeneral.
