Welcome to the Family!!
From the Director
Time, it passes without
warning. It ever so silently tells
us of changes that are coming.
Hopefully all HOG riders are
aware that the riding season is

updated, shined, and ready to
roar. I know anticipation is
almost unbearable at this HOG
barn. I don't know how my
fellow HOG members are
feeling, but for me I've read
enough stories about other
people's rides, watched enough
videos of people riding
that I NEED to ride soon. As a
club we have several things
coming up activity wise. Chili
cook off, let's also think about
this as a way to inspire other
riders to join our club. Highway
clean-up, a way to give back
and keep our community
beautiful. Anyways were off to
a bike show. Hope to see
everyone at the next HOG
meeting.
Your HOG Director,
Ken Seubert,
January Meeting
Minutes
The February meeting of the
Indianhead Chapter Harley
Owners Group was brought to
order at 6:38 pm by Director
Ken Seubert at Sport Motors
H.D. in Lake Hallie. We
welcomed 2 new members who
were attending the meeting.
Old Business
Sam Crawford gave us another
update on Rich Peloquin. He
has only been home 9 days
since January 1st. The disease
he has is attacking his liver and
kidneys. He is on kidney
dialysis and it is a long road to
recovery for Rich. The doctors
seem to think he’ll recover but
it will take some time to get
better. Marge is holding up
well under the circumstances,
lots of running around for her
during his illness.
New Business
Roy Gotter mentioned our
upcoming Soup & Chili CookOff on April 11th. He had signup sheets for entrants to fill out.
Roy also said he got a call about
the State Rally which is in
Janesville this year on July 9th,
10th, and 11th. Rally organizers
are trying to get H.D. dealers
from neighboring states
Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois to
participate in the passport
portion rally also.
At this point Ken welcomed our
Safety Officer Jay Gebert. Jay
commented on our good safety
record in the past and wants it
to continue this upcoming year.
We must keep in mind the
entire group is only as safe as
any one rider. Jay stressed to
the newer and less experienced
group riders to stay in their own
comfort zone until you get more
familiar with group riding
techniques.
West/Westridge Center. As we
decide where our rides will be
going we can decide on a
meeting place at that time.
Jay brought up the importance
of visibility of yourself and
your motorcycle. Reflective
clothing and a white colored
helmet are good things for the
rider, extra lights on the
motorcycle helps it to be seen
better.
Meeting was adjourned at
7:14pm.
Jay had a brochure with him
that showed what you need to
know regarding riding near
semi-trailer rigs. One thing to
take note of is if you can’t see
the truck driver in his mirror
when you look at it then he
can’t see you either.
Passenger weight distribution
was another topic discussed.
This has a huge impact on
motorcycle control. A center of
gravity must be maintained for
safe riding. We will view a
short safety film at our April
meeting to refresh everyone for
the upcoming riding season.
A question was asked about the
advanced rider course that was
offered at CVTC, Jay will look
into it and get back to the club.
Ken mentioned that Hutchinson
Technology has a new owner
and there is a construction
project going on near our
meeting area. We may need to
find another meeting place.
Several alternatives were
mentioned that are close to
Hutchinson Tech. such as
CVTC Nano Center and Mega
Sue Schaefer has booked
Famous Dave’s catering for our
summer picnic.
Respectfully Submitted,
Brad Brenner,
Secretary
