European Food Market, Youngstorget, until May 9 from 10.00 – 20.00
Large market with sellers from the Netherlands, France, Italy, England and Spain.
You may shop for cheese, ham, sausages, jams and marmalade. Other products for sale will be olives, dried fruit, nuts,
baklava, nougat, chocolate, sweets, toffee and more.
Some of the stalls will also serve hot foods like paella, couscous, chicken, crepes, waffles, bratwurst, fajitas and pizza.
There will also be opportunity to buy clothes, leather bags, fashion accessories, jewellery and crafts.

The Outside Track, Riksscenen, May 7 at 21.00
The Outside Track consists of musicians from Ireland, Scotland and Canada. The quintet
masters fiddle, flute, accordion, harp, guitar and vocals, and combined with stepping they
create a truly unique sound. The band has released four albums since their debut in 2007,
and has toured on most known continents.

Mudhoney, Vulkan Arena, May 7 at 20.00
The living legends in Mudhoney visit Oslo for the first time in many years. Their most
recent album is 2013’s Vanishing Point. Like most of their releases it is filled to the brim
with wonderfully noisy rock with equal amounts of borrowings from punk, adrenalin blues,
garage rock and classic hard rock.

Lisa Ekdahl, Rockefeller, May 7 at 20.00
Lisa Ekdahl is one of Sweden’s most cherished and acclaimed artsist. She visits Oslo and
Rockefeller with a brand new album, entitled “Look to Your Own Heart”, which contains her
unique signature blend of folk, jazz, bossa nova and ballads.

Magnus Berg, Herr Nilsen, May 8 at 22.00
Magnus Berg is a young guitar wiz who debuted at the mere age of 12. The youngster
has already made his mark on the Norwegian blues landscape, and has performed with
various musicians at numerous festivals and blues clubs in Norway and the US.

Samaris, Parkteatret Scene, May 8 at 20.00
Samaris is a young, critically acclaimed band from Reykjavík, Iceland. The trio, which
is compared to everything from Björk to James Blake, plays atmospheric electronica
with influence from trip hop, among other things, and uses lyrics taken from ancient
Icelandic folk poetry.

DANCE
Dream Play, Den Norske Opera & Ballett, until June 1
Dream Play is a four-part ballet performance comprised of choreographies by four
masters: “Lamentate” by Jo Strømgren, “Without Words” by Nacho Duato, “Dream
Play” by Johan Inger and “Skew Whiff” by León & Lightfoot.
Performers are the Norwegian National Ballet and the Norwegian National Opera
Orchesta.

The choreographers in Subjazz have collaborated for more than ten years, with a strong
commitment to developing their own scenic expression which is rooted in jazz dance

Bringing Order Out of Chaos: The CCP Central Committee Decision on Ruling
the Country According to Law, Litteraturhuset, May 8 at 12.00
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites to the second seminar in the Asia Forum series.
Professor Margaret Woo from the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston will
hold the lecture. Woo is a specialist in legal reforms in China, and has contributed to
numerous publications and lectures on the court’s role in the economic development
and democracy.
The seminar will be commented by Zhou Yong, a lawyer and researcher for the China
Autonomy Programme at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, University of Oslo.

Women Go West: The Search for Belonging in a Changing Europe, Litteraturhuset, May 8 at 18.00
Lecture by Maja Hrgović.
The Balkans are being hardly hit by the new European economic reality and simultaneously struggling with the repercussions
of the war. There are now entire villages whose women travelled west in search of work. What are the consequences for
those who stay at home and how affected is the family structure when women live abroad for extensive periods?
Croatian Maja Hrgović was awarded The Balkan Fellowship for journalistic excellence after having published a socioeconomic and sociological study on female migration.

Rem & Ron, Teater Manu, until May 11
Teater Manu - the Norwegian sign-language theatre, presents the children’s theatre
performance Rem & Ron.
Rem and Ron are photojournalists who travel around to document different events. They
have assignments across the country, and a good chunk of their time is therefore spent
traveling. This entails a lot of waiting. Waiting requires patients, a virtue which Rem and
Ron unfortunately do not possess. Therefore, they spend their waiting time creating all sorts
of problems, both for themselves and others...
Recommended for children aged five and older.

Holmenkollstafetten, May 9 at 14.30
Holmenkollstafetten is an annual running relay with 15 legs starting at Bislett
stadium, up to Holmenkollen and back at the stadium. The race is open to everyone professionals, businesses and other groups.
Over 50,000 teams with more than 750,000 runners have participated in
Holmenkollstafetten altogether.
The athletics club Tjalve IK has organised the relay in May every year since 1923.

Practical Photography Course and Lightroom Editing, Ytre Hvaler National Park,
May 10 from 11.00 – 19.00
The meeting point for this course will be at the parking lot of Guttormvauen, Vesterøy
at 11.00. From there, there will be a photo tour through the forest out to the beach
with numerous photo opportunities: beautiful rocks, water surfaces, potholes and small
beaches. Fine opportunities for landscape photography and portraits.
From 15.00, the course will continue at Skjærhalden and the National Park Center, where
the Lightroom 6 editing workshop will be held.
