Oslo Medieval Festival is an entertaining festival for the whole family. The festival has a genuine medieval atmosphere, with wandering jugglers, jesters, musicians and beggars; historical plays; longbow shooting and concerts with medieval songs and instruments. There will be a large medieval market with visiting artisans and merchants from all over Europe. The climbing park’s new attraction opened May 23, and the first jump will be raffled to one adrenaline-seeking guest. When you jump (with climbing harness) from Tigerspranget (“The Tiger Leap”) you will experience free fall for about 13 metres, and then being lowered gently to the ground. Before jumping you have to climb 88 steps up to the platform, and the climb up is probably just as exciting as the actual jump. Oslo Summer Park opened in 2012, and in 2015 the park hopes to welcome over 40 000 guests. The park opened for the season last week and will be open every day until October 11. She and her fabulous band have only released one single so far, “We Are”, but that in turn is a wonderful song. Now the debut album is around the corner, and the release is celebrated at Parkteatret on Thursday. She is, however, not too concerned with genre definitions and evaluates each song in its own right. It is the harmonies, melody lines, chord progressions and lyrics than mainly concerns her. New this year is that the King will be arriving by land, more precisely by horse and carriage. This street theater recreates King Frederik IV arrival at Fredrikstad in 1704. Tambourafdleingen along with other military historical societies, theater groups, dancers, craftsmen and civilians will be working together to give the audience an experience the seventeen-hundreds at the fortress.
