Take one of the pointed ends, and pull it backwards and down. Fold the tab at the bottom behind your newly formed heart. After, fold the tab at the bottom behind your newly formed heart. Put a quarter in the middle to make your “change of heart!” Fold the side corners to get rid of the face in the middle. Then fold the whole thing in half, afterwards fold one side down. Now, squash these new triangles down. Take the corners of each of the small squares and fold them in away from the face in the dollar (looks like a kite). Squash these flaps down to make squares. Hint: use something pointy to put in the corners, like a pencil! Take the corners of the triangles, and fold them up towards the center corners. Pinch the sides in to make each end look like triangles. Every girl imagines of marrying her high school sweetheart and spending the rest of her life with him, but most girls never live out that dream. However, for Government teacher and running coach, Tracy Arsenault, that dream became a reality. While attending the same high school, Mrs. Arsenault and her husband, Paul, met running track together. Although they met their sophomore year in high school, it wasn’t until their senior year that they started dating. “We met each other through mutual friends and I’m actually the one that called him first,” recalls Mrs. Arsenault. “I just always thought he was cute.” After graduating high school, the couple had to separate while attending two different universities. Even though they had a physical separation, the two of them never found anyone else they wanted to be with more than each other. HEATHER BRANNICK Staff Writer “It was kind of a long distance relationship,” comments Mrs. Arsenault. “We decided we would stay together and see how it went and I never met anyone that was my best friend like he was. So we stayed together.” In July 1997, after Mrs. Arsenault graduated college, the couple tied the knot in east Texas. This upcoming July, the couple will be celebrating their 13th anniversary. Mrs. Arsenault believes that she and her husband have stayed together because “We were best friends and we have mutual respect for each other. We have two children and I think there is a lot of compromise in marriage.” After knowing each other for 20 years now, their relationship has lasted through everything. “ When I said my vows that was really what I meant. Even though marriage is hard at times, it is worth the work.” High School Sweethearts Beat the Odds 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Fold the corner of one end to make a triangle, crease, then unfold.
