The Database Support Officer is responsible for the performance,
integrity, and security of the database and makes sure it is in accordance with
financial management techniques and practices appropriate for Canadian
Registered Charities. The Database Support Officer Position reports directly to
the Director of Finance.
Responsibilities
• Maintain donors’ database and monitor all related functions for Raiser’s
Edge database.
• Reconcile and verify donors’ donations statements/accounts on a regular
basis for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage and provide all necessary financial reports from Raiser’s Edge to
the Finance team.
• Collaborate on transferring database records from Merchant Service
Providers (MSPs) into Raiser’s Edge System (Import & Export data) and
verify the accuracy of data being transferred.
• Verify and process recurring EFTs for ongoing donations batches by
database systems.
• Maintain and follow up on Donors’ requests, suspended/failed
transactions, and all pledges’ missing information.
• Install and test new versions, applications, back-ups, and data recovery
plans.
• Introduce up-to-date database documentations, procedures, and data
standards including adherence to the Canadian Donors’ Data Protection
Act.

Assist in tracking for allocation of funds to meet donors' wishes and
requirements by designing and coding database.
Qualifications
• Degree in Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or
Management Information Systems (MIS), or other related field.
• Three to Six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated experience with Internal/External reporting, Crystal
Reports, and Database reporting including Structured Query Language
(SQL) Database Development and Database/Financial files.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Raiser’s Edge (Blackbaud)
Software.
• Knowledgeable about the CRA’s compliance guidelines for charities
• Must be a strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability,
good judgment and strong operational focus.
• Excellent communication skills, organized, and work well in a team
environment.
• Motivation and commitment to humanitarian principles required.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
