High school diploma. Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a public transport driver with a safe driving record. Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures. Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others. Age between 30 and 50 years. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in French. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English will be a plus. Job Description 1. Job Purpose Under the supervision of the Director of Housing and Auxiliary Services, the Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating the University bus on a regular daily schedule. 2. Duties Drive IUGB bus/van daily in a safe and efficient way, from/to AED in accordance with time schedules during the academic year Transport students at regularly scheduled times to/from the University and to/from IUGB organized events, field trips and other extracurricular activities. Drive the shuttle van to transport the students from the Ouegnin residence to the main campus. Drive students to Abidjan for emergency purposes. Drive students for errands in Bassam and Abidjan. Follow road and safety regulations Follow safety rules as students are boarding and exiting the bus. Perform daily maintenance checks Keep bus and vans interior clean for passengers. Check the condition of the tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that the bus/vans are in good working condition. Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs Identify locations to repair the bus/shuttle vans and parts suppliers. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations. Maintain a variety of records and reports including but not limited to mileage, routing, maintenance, and time sheets and work schedules. Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. 3. Skills/Qualifications Possess a valid driving license. High school diploma.
