Prof. Gerry Yokota (Osaka University)
Prof. Yokota is the professor of Contemporary
Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies at Osaka University,
where she has been teaching since 1989 with a focus on
gender and peace. An activist in the anti-apartheid
movement in the eighties and nineties, she was a member
of the executive committee that welcomed Mandela to
Japan after his release from prison.
