It was a little chilly but a great time was had by all. We enjoyed seeing Puff and Humphries, two of the camels that live there. We also saw a wallaby and her joey tucked away in her pouch. The children were able to feed some of the animals which included camels, zebras, an American bison named Cody, antelopes, wildebeest and many more. We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the bus (too cold to eat outside). th On Friday, April 17 we held our annual Race for Education fundraiser. Students raised a record breaking $6,254.23. We started our day (in our Race for Education t-shirts) by walking 20 laps around the campus, which is the equivalent of about 3 miles. Kindergarten and First Grade were allowed to take a detour through the course, but most wanted to do the "big course," with the rest of the student body. The top fundraiser in grades K-5 was Grace Meredith with a total of $550 and in grades 6th-12th was Alyssa Pennington with a total of $411.50. Both were awarded a $100 Visa gift card for their hard work! We also awarded the top fundraiser in each class with the ability to pie their teacher in the face. Winners were Anna st nd White-Kindergarten, Trey Gilmer-1 , Grace Meredith-2 , rd th th Payton Dunbar-3 , Medariah Richardson-4 , Ryan Urban-5 , th th Alyssa Pennington-6 , Brennen Davis-7 , and Mikhail Mann and Ellowyn Steele-High School. The Lord blessed us with a beautiful day and an abundance of fun! Thank you to all who supported our fundraiser. It was a HUGE success! DON’T FORGET! Teacher appreciation day is Friday, May 8th. A BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Frank Longrie for driving the bus and to our chaperones Wanda Songer, Kelly Steele and Trent and Byron Hurley.
