LETTER
FROM THE
PASTOR
Dear Parish Family,
A warm welcome to you, our faithful parishioners and all who may be
joining us today for Mass. Please know you always have a home at the
Church of Saint Mary!
SUMMER: I hope and pray you are enjoying some time away for fun
and relaxation with your family and friends. Summer is always a nice time to
take a break from the usual routine. Please remember our parish while you
are away. Mass attendance and donations usually decrease in the summer.
If you have not done so already please give ELECTRONIC FUND
TRANSFER a try. It allows your donation to reach the Church while you are
away. It maintains financial security for our parish. Please log on to our
Web Site's HOME PAGE and look immediately to the LEFT. There will be
THREE BLUE BOXES. Click the BOX that states: PARISH GIVING. Follow
the easy step by step directions and you will be listed as an EFT participant.
SAINT MARY PREP: PREP stands for Parish Religious Education
Program. Saint Mary Parish offers a School of Religion for Elementary
School aged children attending non-Catholic Schools during Monday and
Tuesday evening from 6:30pm until 7:45pm in our Catholic Education
Center. Kathy Wasniewski is the Principal of PREP and Coordinator of
Religious Education for Saint Mary Parish. PREP follows the curriculum of
religion of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and is considered an evening
school of religion. Registrations are now being accepted for September.
Please call our Religious Education Office or visit our Web Site for more
information. All contact information is on the front of our bulletin. Thank
You!
SAINT MARY RCIA process: RCIA stands for RITE OF CHRISTIAN
INITIATION OF ADULTS. It is the formational process by which the Roman
Catholic Church welcomes God's people into a deeper relationship with Him
through His Holy Church. Do you know of any adult who desires to join the
Catholic Church? Do you know of any adult who desires to receive the
Sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation as well as Reconciliation? Do
you know of any adult who desires to convert to Catholicism from another
Christian religion? Do you know of any adult who has not been baptized?
Please help them on the journey! Walk with them!! Pray with them!!! Lead
them to Saint Mary Parish! God will do the rest! If you know of any adult
please encourage them to contact Deacon Don Nichols, Coordinator of the
RCIA process here at Saint Mary Parish. Deacon Don's information is on
the front cover of our Sunday bulletin. God bless you for all you do in
leading others to His Church.
SAINT MARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL: was founded in 1961 and then
staffed by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Philadelphia (commonly known as
the Glen Riddle Franciscans) and competent lay teachers. This community

States Accredited School of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Saint Mary
Parish. It is staffed by competent lay teachers of the Catholic Faith. Saint
Mary Catholic School offers two divisions: Our Pre-School Division
educates 3 and 4 year old children in the Catholic tradition. Our
Elementary School Division educates our Kindergarten through Eighth
Grade students as well in the Catholic tradition. Our school has a
Technology Teacher, Art Teacher, Music and Drama Teacher, Honors Math
Teacher and Resource Teacher. We are the lowest tuition in the area.

LOVE IS OUR MISSION: THE FAMILY FULLY ALIVE
Theme 6: All Love Bears Fruit
“Love is our mission” for everyone – not just those who
are married. Catholic marriage is a beautiful sacrament,
but it is not necessary for a fully human life. In any society, many will be marginalized if marriage is seen as mandatory, as if one needs a sexual partner in order to be complete. Celibacy in the Church resists this misleading idea,
insisting that life outside of marriage is also meant to be
beautiful, social, and sacramental. Catholic celibacy and
marriage have the same inner rationale, for in both cases,
love commits us to service and joins us to the cross. A life
of celibacy may be lay or ordained. Celibacy can be chosen, as in vowed religious life, or the result of being unable to marry, due to disability or circumstance. There are
many ways of being celibate, each with important distinctions, but to be fruitful, they all require a similar internal
motion of soul, an offering of our heart to the Lord. Wise,
mature celibates and spouses practice many of the same
spiritual skills. Celibacy and marriage both proclaim that
sexual intimacy cannot be a temporary experiment or conditional audition. Both celibacy and marriage create solidarity between the sexes, rejecting sex in the context of
what Pope Francis called the “throwaway culture.” To
create communities where unmarried men and women
experience joy and live their mission is something Christians need to do for one another.
