SPEECH EVENING
Well done to all the learners who participated in last week’s Speech Evening! You were so brave
to stand up in front of your peers and the adults! Congratulations to our winners; may you go from

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
Many parents are confused about the holiday times. SCHOOL CLOSES ON THE 17th APRIL AND
RE-OPENS ON THE 5TH MAY. Some learners have already gone on holiday and are now missing some
final tests. These children will receive the class average for these tests that they have missed. PLEASE
READ YOUR SCHOOL CALENDAR! WE HAVE THREE TERMS AT JUBILATE PRIMARY.

The school activities calendar will be posted on the D6 School Communicator when we re-open for
Term 2.
UNIFORM AND HAIR INSPECTION EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK
UNIFORM UPDATE
Parents are reminded that winter uniforms are compulsory from the 2nd term: you are encouraged to
start making your purchases to prevent the rush. Please note that we have limited stock on certain
items. No additional winter uniform stock is expected to be received by Jubilate. In addition for the
month of April, winter uniforms may be worn depending on the weather.
As a reminder, our children wear a tracksuit as their winter uniform with the long sleeve green crew neck
shirt. Warm winter jackets may also be worn with your child’s tracksuits. ONLY school shoes or white or
black sports takkies (NO TOMY’S) on PE days are to be worn with the tracksuits. NO hair extensions
and boys no shaved sides and long hair on top.

PROVISION OF NOTICE TO LEAVE JUBILATE SCHOOL
Please be reminded that all parents are bound by the contract that was signed when you enrolled your
child at our school. One term’s notice is to be provided in writing (email is acceptable). If you are
uncertain as to your plans, PROVISIONAL NOTICE is an option. This is also the case for our Aftercare
facility.
SOAPBOX DERBY – 6 th JUNE 2015 (DIARISE THIS DATE)
We are excited to inform you that we have our annual Soapbox Derby Fun Day next term on Saturday,
6th June 2015. We are looking forward to an amazing day with the whole family and the great prizes to
be won. The Gr. 5 E’s from last year and the Felisberto family can testify to the great experiences they
had with the Laser Games and the helicopter flight they won respectively last year.
Each student will get their “BUY MY SOAP BOX CART” form soon. If there are any parents who would
like to assist in getting prizes or sponsor prizes for the Soapbox Derby Fun Day, please contact
