NEWSLETTER No. 30 15th MAY 2015

Issue No. 30 (15/05/15)
‘There is no comparison between that which is lost by not succeeding and that which is
lost by not trying.’
Francis Bacon
This week we have had the parent interviews and I want to take this opportunity to
thank all the parents, carers, grandparents who attended these meetings. The ‘Kellands
Family’ is central and paramount to all the children achieving across the curriculum and
being safe and happy. By working together we can support each other and make sure
that these very important years in education and child development are a wonderful
experience at Kellands. The support we get from all the families is fantastic and we
want the school to be a ‘Centre of Excellence’ across all the curriculum but also
somewhere where all families feel welcomed, secure and comfortable. Thanks also to
the teachers, PSAs, office staff, parent helpers and the Deputes who do such a
professional and hard-working job in meeting the needs of the children and creating this
environment for learning. The aim of the school is indeed where:-
‘Everybody is somebody’
And together we can create this special ‘Centre of Excellence at Kellands.
Have a fantastic weekend

We would like to mark this occasion and are gathering as many stories as possible from
over the years. If you would like to contribute a story to our book of memories please
send it in to me in an envelope by Tuesday 30th June. Thank you, Mrs J Barr

A sample can be viewed in the school office.
Parent Council
As you may be aware, Mrs Gullan retires from Kellands School at the end of this term
after dedicating 37 years to the school. I am sure a great many parents would welcome
the opportunity to contribute to a collection to mark the incredible contribution she has
made to so many children and families and to the school as a whole over this time.
Whilst the organisation of a collection is not a huge task, it does take some time and
consideration and we are looking for a willing volunteer!
If you would like to help out with this please get in touch with either Jillian Barr
[email protected] or Lynn Downie [email protected]
Thank you. Lynn Downie, Kellands Parent Council
