Klines Resort 269-649-2514 May 2015 Office Hours Mon-Sat 9-2 New Volunteer Sign-up Program In Use “Sign Up Genius” is now being used to inform our residents about volunteer needs for both Resort and C&S activities. It’s simple! Here’s how it works: When a new event is created, everyone receives an email with a link to the event signup. Click on the event link, and after a simple sign-in you will see all the places volunteers are needed, and which spots are still open. You can also see who has already signed up for the various jobs. Once you select a place to volunteer, you will be all set! You will receive a reminder email 2 days before the event. If we are short volunteers, additional emails can be sent to remind you to sign up. Several advantages to using this system will be apparent upon your first use. No phone calls, no trips to office. Confirmation is immediate, and planners can quickly see what positions still need volunteers. To date, 2 events have been created and 2 emails have been sent to everyone on Don Squire’s email list. More activities will be added soon, and we will be using the resort email list as soon as we are able to organize it. Please keep both the office and Don Squires informed of any changes to your email address. To see a demonstration of “Sign Up Genius” or to have someone assist you in signing up, come to the resort coffee hour on May 16 at 8:30 am. We will demonstrate and assist you with signups. Thanks for your support! C&S Cashew Chicken Casserole Dinner Skylight Quartet Opens Season May 24 Klines Resort welcomes the Skylight Quartet performing for our Sunday Service on May 24 at 6:30pm. Phil’s Corner In 1995, Tama and I left our careers in education and moved “home.” It was a hard time; my brother Ric had died in an accident that winter, and the Christian school where I worked was closing. We made a two year commitment to help my parents, and moved into the old house where I grew up. When we learned the next Spring that Tama was pregnant, we could think of no better place to raise a family. And we were right. When Joseph Richard was born that October, he had more loving grandparents “than Carter’s has pills.” Many of you have watched Joseph grow into an exceptional and talented young man. You’ve been part of our family in countless ways, and we truly appreciate your participation in Joseph’s upbringing. We are blessed. Joseph graduates this month, and we’re inviting you all to come celebrate at his party on Sat., May 30. We’ll have a Open House picnic from 1 to 4 pm, and the VHS “Top Dogs” jazz band will perform at 2 pm. Bring a lawn chair and come join us at the big tent. Graduation’s not the only milestone this summer. We celebrated our 35th anniversary in April, it’s our 20th year here at the resort, and we’re celebrating the Resort’s 50th in June! Hold on to your hats! It’s going to be a great summer! God Bless, Phil No golf carts, skateboards, bikes, etc allowed on concrete at clubhouse. Sidewalks and tent pad are for pedestrian use only. Month of May Annual Notice Regarding Davis Drive “A Court Order was entered in the St. Joseph County Circuit Court which limits the use of Davis Drive to the owners of lots in Summer Haven Subdivision and/or their guests or invitees. Residents of the Resort shall not use Davis Drive for ingress and egress to Klines Resort or for recreational purposes and may only use Davis Drive if they are guests or invitees or a lot owner in Summer Haven Subdivision.” Please note: This notice is required as part of an out-ofcourt settlement with several neighbors who object to any interference on their property from the resort. Should you encounter problems with any of these neighbors, please report it to management or the office as soon as possible. Thanks! The COA celebrated their 1st year at Klines Resort in April.
