National seminar on ‘Recent advances in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management’ was successfully organized at KL University on 17th march 2015. Students and industries participated in it and shared valuable knowledge in the areas of manufacturing and supply chain management. The seminar was inaugurated by honorable principal Dr.A.Anandkumar and presided over by the head of the mechanical department, Dr.P.V.Chalapathi. The event was coordinated by Dr.M.Vijayakumar, during the seminar, various lectures and talks were given by industry personnel, from which students of KLU and other institutes gained valuable knowledge. Eventually, KL University students got the benefit of internship in the participating organizations. IIT Kharagpur based company agreed to take at least 10 students as interns and this may still rise, based on the interest of the students. Industries like Gain Waste Solutions, Rallis India Pvt Ltd partners, Credative solutions and UPL participated and were happy to share their views. Few organizations were even ready to sign MOU with KL Unviersity. This will benefit the students of KL U in terms of opportunities to them in near future. Overall, the seminar was a grand success. HOD-Mechanical added that KLU would be pleased to have such seminars and workshops in the near future. This would surely benefit the students of KLU as well as other engineering colleges.
