The Lake Township Trustees held a regular meeting Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Trustee Pettit called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. Brush pick-up is for chippable brush only. Brush shall be stacked as neatly and untangled as possible. Brush shall be placed at the road edge with butt ends of all branches facing in the same direction towards the road. Garbage, yard waste and objects other than brush and limbs will not be picked-up Any brush piles that are deemed unchippable shall be documented by a picture by the Lake Township Road Department and a final determination shall be made with-in twenty-four hours by a Lake Township Trustee on the disposal of the brush pile. Seconded by Ms. Bowen Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Trustee Bowen moved to adopt Resolution # 46-15 Whereas, the belt assembly system for the Lake Township Road Department asphalt machine is in need of replacement, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees purchase a new belt assembly from CenWeld Corp., 230 East Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221 for a total sum including shipping of $2,198.00. Seconded by Mr. Welling Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Fire Department Issues: Trustee Bowen moved to adopt Resolution # 47-15 Whereas, Lake Township Fire Department Engine 28 experienced ABS sensors problems and required repairs, so Therefore, be it resolved that the Lake Township Trustees approve the sum of $ 1,183.30 to Ohio Cat, 25970 State Route 25 Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 for repairs to the ABS sensors on Engine 28. Seconded by Mr. Welling Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Trustee Welling moved to adopt Resolution# 48-15 Whereas, the yearly Maintenance Contract (2015-2016) for the breathing air compressor is due, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees approve the sum of $ 1,359.40 to Pneu-Matic Engineering, Inc., 12910 Doran Road, Whitehouse, Ohio for the maintenance contract for the breathing air compressor. Seconded by Mr. Pettit Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Trustee Pettit moved to authorize Fire Chief Bruce Moritz to amend the existing contract with the Ohio Turnpike Commission to address safety issues. The amendment will require that Lake Township Fire and EMS runs on the Turnpike will cover the westbound section of the Ohio Turnpike from milepost 71.0 to milepost 65.4 westbound and Perrysburg Township Fire and EMS will cover the eastbound milepost 65.4 and 71.0 eastbound milepost. Seconded by Mr. Welling Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Trustee Bowen moved to adopt Resolution # 49-15 Whereas, Lake Township Fire Chief Bruce Moritz has requested the Lake Township Trustees purchase a High Performance Washer for washing turnout gear, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees authorize the purchase of two (2) Continental E-Series High Performance Washers-Extractors for washing turnout gear with two (2) chemical injection pumps for each machine for the total sum including freight, installation and training of $ 11,450.00 to Advantage Equipment, 1660 ScenicWay, Akron, Ohio 44310. Seconded by: Mr. Welling Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Trustee Welling moved to adopt Resolution # 50-15 Whereas, Lake Township Fire Chief Bruce Moritz has requested the Lake Township purchase two (2) drug vaults to store Schedule I drugs in EMS ambulances located at Stations 1&2, so Therefore, be it resolved, that the Lake Township Trustees authorize Chief Bruce Moritz to purchase two (2) drug vaults to store Schedule I drugs plus software and shipping from Knox, 1601 W. Deer Valley Road, Phoenix, Az. 85027 for the sum of $2,725.00. Seconded by Mr. Pettit Roll Call: Bowen-yes, Welling-yes, Pettit-yes Discussion Only: Vehicle Registration Funds-Fiscal Officer Schwamberger researched the availability of an additional $5 per vehicle registration fee thru the BMV. The township currently collects $10.00 levied by the county and could enact an additional $5.00 per ORC4504.18 which would collect approximately $43,000 per year.
