WHAT IS PARIS BEER WEEK?
Launched in 2014, Paris Beer Week is the first festival in the Greater Paris
region entirely dedicated to craft beer.
Some ideas die hard in France, especially when it comes to beer: boring,
bland and only for guys are just a few that come to mind. Initiated and
organized by members of the craft beer community, Paris Beer Week
challenges these out-dated ideas. How? By promoting unique, creative
breweries that have a strong identity rooted in quality craftsmanship.
Over the course of a week, Paris Beer Week puts the Greater Paris craft
beer scene in the spotlight with a series of unique events hosted by the
breweries, bottle shops, bars and distributors that make this community
thrive.
While Paris Beer Week focuses on celebrating the work of French brewers, it also recognizes the influence that foreign breweries have had on
the local community. A selection of international breweries are warmly
invited to participate each year.
Events
A series of unique events will take place throughout Paris during the festival week. A full calendar is available online at laparisbeerweek.com

WHO IS PARIS BEER WEEK?
Organizers
A firm believer in the “consume less, consume better” movement, the
non-profit organization Bières et Papilles has been promoting craft beer
since 2010. B&P played an important role in the early days of the current
craft beer movement in Paris by hosting Les soirées maltées.
With close ties to the instigators of Paris Beer Week, B&P is overseeing the
organization of the second edition.
B&P seeks to communication the values of gastronomy and education,
friendship and exchange, responsible production and consumption
through each and every one of its activities.
Participants
Over 30 brewers, bars, bottle shops, distributors, beerologues and clubs
create and host their own events throughout the festival week.
You!
Paris Beer Week is not just for beer geeks (although there’s no shortage of
things for them to enjoy). The festival offers a larger public the opportunity to discover an entirely new selection of beer made with quality and
flavor in mind.
There is an alternative to industrially produced beer and it’s being made
in the streets of Greater Paris—and Paris Beer Week wants more people
to know about it!
GRAND FINALE
On May 30, from 11am to 11pm, craft beer will take over La Bellevilloise!
The Grand Finale event caps off a week of craft beer discoveries and
excitement in Paris.
For the occasion La Bellevilloise has agreed to stock ONLY CRAFT BEER
in the Halle aux Oliviers, Club, Forum and Loft. That means every tap,
in every room will be running only the finest, artisan quality beer. Visitors are encouraged to come and try a selection of beer from around the
world in the presence of the brewers themselves. Sample, learn, share—
novice or beer geek, there’s something for everyone to discover!
The beer
Thirty brewers and their beer ON-SITE, from Greater Paris (IDF), France
and beyond (UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy….) Our international
guests will be revealed during the lead up to the festival via Facebook
and Twitter. Stay tuned!
And on tap, a beer brewed by the winner of last year’s home brew competition with Yann Geffriaud of Outland Brewery.
Of course La Onze, a collaborative beer brewed by IDF brewers will be
for sale once again, with a new recipe highlighting the creativity of local brewers.

HOME BREW COMPETITION
Home brewing as it’s known in the US and the UK is still relatively new in
France. But more and more curious beer fans are firing up their kitchen
stoves and searching out the latest hops, making this is an exciting time
to be a home brewer in Paris. There’s really no limit to creativity when
you’re brewing in your sink or your bathtub, is there?
To support this kind of daring approach to beer, the festival hosts a Home
Brew Competition. Entries are evaluated by a jury of beer professionals
and the best are awarded prizes during the Paris Beer Week Grand Finale closing event.
Last year’s first-place winner got to brew a beer with Outland Brewery,
which will be served on tap at this year’s Grand Finale event.
Jury members come from a variety of backgrounds in the beer world
and include brewers, bar and bottle shop owners, beerologues and
prominent contributors to the craft beer community.
Candidates are invited to register and submit their beer before May 1st.
Complete competition information is available online at
