Worship Service
Sunday 10am
on the 28th June 2015 as they
are baptised.
We will have a shared lunch
afterwards to celebrate.
Please bring a lunch to share
and stay after church.
As you know our church is celebrating its Centenary
this year.
As part of those celebrations, we are going to hold a
Bible Reading Marathon as an act of worship and
proclamation, where the whole Bible (Genesis to
Revelation) is read aloud over approximately 90
continuous hours. Like a baton passing relay, each
volunteer reader will read aloud for 15 minutes and
then be followed by the next reader and the next and
so on, till the final reading in Revelation is
completed.
The Bible will be read in the main foyer beginning
Thursday 30th July. The event will begin at
7.30pm with prayer and a short introduction about
the vision for this event (coffee & desserts will be
available). The Bible readings will then commence
at 8.00pm and progress through to completion
around early afternoon on Monday 3rd August.
The Marathon will be widely publicized and the
church will remain open to the public for its duration,
so that anyone can drop in at any time and listen to
God’s Word being read and perhaps spend some time
meditating on it. Tea, coffee and hot soup will be
available. Displays and pamphlets, tracts and Bibles
will also be available to assist people in understanding
more about the Bible and its divine Author.
Approximately 400 volunteers are required to read
the Bible in its entirety and so we're going to need a
great many volunteers to sign up as readers. It is
something both young and old can be a part of and
also families or groups of friends could read
successive 15 minute time slots and stay to listen to
each other read. So please support this event by
signing up yourself or your family to read. Some of
the local churches are being invited to participate as
a way of expressing our unity in Christ but please
invite friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues....
in fact anyone who would like to be involved.
Invitations will be available soon to hand out.
Commitment to read during the Marathon will
involve arriving at the church 10 minutes prior to
the scheduled reading time, then reading for 15
minutes and after reading, to remain at the church
for a further 15 minutes to listen to the next reader
(a total of 40 minutes). In that way every reader
has a listening audience of at least one other person.
If you have any questions about it, please speak to
Vicki.
Please pray that the Spirit of God would use
“The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never
cease, His compassions never fail.”
* “Thank you dear God for Your sovereign
hand upon us, and Your mercies that are new
every morning, and for Your great
faithfulness.”
*Oh what a Saviour is Jesus our Lord!!!
* Pray for those who’ve turned their backs on God’s love, compassion
and mercy. “Shine your love upon them Lord that will draw
them back to You”.
* Pray for Bette Jaede and her family at this time, for comfort and
peace as Hans passed away peacefully during the past week.
* As we consider the ongoing ministry amongst our young people, pray
that God’s wisdom will be known – for the direction across all
activities and learning for these precious young people. Thank God
for every one – how precious they are to Him, and to us.
* Pray for Hamilton as he works amongst us and especially with the
young people including young adults – “strengthen Him Lord for this
ministry”.
* Thank God for those who are faithful in prayer amongst us – “please
God bless each one, and may Your Spirit stir all our hearts to be
more prayerful”
* We pray for the people who were here for the ‘Feast around the
World’ last evening – pray that some hearts were touched to
respond to God’s Love.
* Remember to pray for those who are struggling with health issues –
and especially dear Roy B, and also Niels and Teresa.....”Please
dear Father touch these precious people with your love and
healing”. Remember Chris’ Mother – Muriel T – in the nursing home
too.
* Continue to uphold in prayer our Leadership team – Pastors, Elders,
administration and also those that head up the various outreach
ministries.

PRAYER
Is a vital part of our Church life and
each Sunday morning before the
service we meet for prayer in the room
next to the Pastor’s office.
9:30 am to 9:45 am.
….Join in this time
Please pray that the Spirit of God
would use this Bible Reading Marathon
to speak powerfully and proclaim the
glory of God the Father and His Son
Jesus Christ into our local community,
as His eternal and life-giving Word is
read.
We know that both the readers and the
listeners will receive great blessing in
speaking and hearing “the very words
of God”.
An Evening Service
with
Geoff Dyer and family
at LCC on Sunday 5th July at 6.30pm.

plate of food to share.
* Pray for the Dyer family who are back in OZ, for refreshing in their
ministry to people in Kazakhstan – for safe travel, and strength as
they share their story amongst churches whilst here.
* Today we witness both Jessica and Thomas being baptised – pray for
their protection and blessings as they make this public stand. on
* Pray for God to continue to bless the ministry of Michael Musale
both here and back in Kenya, including building the new classrooms
needed.
* Pray for those who are travelling at present – the Ryfko family and
