Tokyo Temple dedication. Since its dedication, countless
Church members have entered the temple, from home and
abroad, both day and night, to perform ordinances for the
living and the dead.
Our employees play a critical role in supporting the
latter-day temple work. As we consider the importance of
this position, it reminds us the words of Elder David A.
Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who said

Applicants who have professional experience in
engineering, network maintenance, security, housing,
custodial work, gardening, facility maintenance and
operation, and or construction.
Applicants who are cheerful, meek and cooperative.
Q:What experiences could I gain?

As a member of the Tokyo Temple Facilities team, you
will work with the Temple President, the Temple
Recorder, the Temple Engineer and other employees to
perform general operation and maintenance work,
ensuring the smooth operation of the Lord’s work.
Church members come to visit the Tokyo Temple, not
only from the greater Tokyo area, but also from all
across Japan. It is an important part of your duty to
ensure they have a positive experience when visiting
the House of the Lord.
↑The temple grounds are carefully organized for each season. Our
services reflect the saints’ devotion to the house of the Lord.
Q: What skills could I gain?

The Tokyo Temple operates in conjunction with the
Temple Department of the U.S. Church headquarters.
As a member of an international organization, you can
broaden your professional experience.
There are a variety of opportunities available. Facilities
maintenance, and a wide range of administrative
positions. By working in the temple, you could gain a
broader understanding of temple work.

Duties:
• Perform assigned duties in areas such as engineering, network maintenance, facility maintenance, security, housing, custodial
and gardening.
• Coordinate and administer budget preparation, needs planning, and report preparation for the assigned area of work.
• Ensure that work in section is of high quality and meets temple standards of excellence through facilities assessment.
• Ensure that physical systems used in the temple operate at maximum efficiency through preventive maintenance of facilities.
• Ensure proper pre-planning for renovation and closedown needs through coordination with different parties.
• See that all security risks and needs are met with utmost professionalism.
• Assist Temple Presidency or Recorder as needed by performing special assignments as assigned.
Qualifications: Note: (Candidates may apply even if they do not meet all of the qualifications.)
• Worthy to hold a Temple Recommend.
• High school diploma. College level engineering or facilities management degree preferred.
• Professional experience in industrial plant or large commercial facilities maintenance and operations preferred.
• Background and/or work experience in following areas preferred: boiler/chiller servicing & operations, electrical motor
controls, audiovisual and electronic systems, blue-print reading, carpentry, plumbing, and welding.
• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities, with technical and organizational abilities required to direct a large
physical plant operation
• Strong background in English conversation, writing and comprehension.

• All potential employees need to be eligible for employment before the application process begins, as the Church does not
sponsor, support or fund the visa process for any applicants
• This is not an expat position. All international applicants would have to pay for their own relocation expenses
