Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection is centered around Yom HaShoah which is observed as Israel's day of commemoration,
and is held on the 27 Nisan (Hebrew calendar) which comes in April or May. It consists of items
pertaining to, or used in, the Holocaust Memorial Observance Week held annually at the University of
Northern Colorado, Aims Community College, and other venues in Greeley.
Each year, items (usually posters) are borrowed for display in Michener Library and elsewhere in
Greeley.

member of the Presidential Delegation to the Republic of Poland and to attend the
70th Anniversary Commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (April 19, 1943),
and she was rescheduled for 2014. Transcending the Darkness: A Girl’s Journey Out
of the Holocaust is the name of Estelle Glaser Laughlin’s book.)
